Those 308GT4's are just lovely cars to drive, not anything like normal 308GT's
50ki'sh buys you a nice one, hopefully not in red though!

I love these and was very close to buying one before I decided on the Testarossa, had a mint condition Grigio 1986 Ferrari Mondial already plus the others inc. Maserati GC…. love the wedge shape of the Dino 308GT.

This example seems a bit overpriced though and with high mileage, so wouldn’t be an investment…
Mondial was always my goto Ferrari as a youngster. Guess I prefer 4 seaters!

I know, I know - it 'doesn't have enough cylinders' and isn't a 'proper' Ferrari but these Bertone gems have long been a favourite of mine, my post being prompted by this '75 example appearing for sale on my doorstep....

It’s got stick on Ferrari chav shields but is a 1975 car, they weren’t badged as Ferrari until 1976 ☹

The chav shields shouldn’t be on anything unless it’s run by Scuderia Ferrari. But they’re not Ferrari exclusive they ran Alfas in the early days, modified Lancias in the 50s and Dinos in the 60s

They are a marmite car (I loved mine), they are fantastic handling and took mine on the Belgium Spa circuit straight after restoration.
I had a look at prices and they seem to be dropping back a bit. I imagine some parts are getting a little difficult to find by now.

For that money I’d rather have a Mondial, particularly the T … it’s a far prettier 2+2 with updated mechanics.

My brother bought this Mondial T in 2017. It’s not quick in modern terms, but he still thinks it’s a great drive. It shares a garage with an insanely quick Evora GTE.C75F04E9-24FE-4759-B8CC-5C07AD9B5DA5.jpeg952B9CA6-CB0F-4D37-BA4E-FE0234EFEE47.jpeg

When I was a member of the Classic Car Club in the early noughties I had a 308GTB for the weekend, it was incredibly slow and the speedo over read by about 20 mph at 70, but still an occasion to drive. They also had a 308GT4 which I had actually booked but was broken. That car went on to be the Wheeler Dealers car above. Always liked the GT4 more than the GTB.
Blimey I was a member of CCC too, in fact I nearly bought the Woking franchise when it went for sale as I was spending a lot of time there. That was probably a good decision not too! They had a white LHD 308GTB and a red RHD plus the GT4 (which I helped change the belts on!). I have a photo somewhere of me filling the Aston Vantage from two pumps at the same time on either side, also one of the Virage pissing petrol over Chiswick High Street as the tank was leaking.

Pity the poor member that totalled the Lamborghini Silouette and had to explain whilst figuring out how to pay the hugue insurance excess. I personally always wanted to drive the Jensen Interceptor but it was always broken!

The Silhouette is properly rare. They only built 50. Lovely car, but expensive now.

And I’d love an Interceptor! They seem to be about £60k or so now for good one. Hard to know whether that makes sense or not - you can buy a Strad for that money!

Those were the days. It was a red GTB when I had it. Took the Mk2 jag for the weekend, that was an eye opener, couldn’t tell the difference between 1st and reverse until you let the clutch out. The Carrera RS replica, with the roll cage and race seats was epic, as was the 930 turbo.

308 GT4 or a 365 / 400 are the 2 Ferraris I seriously lust after as realistically they could be in reach both have had me considering selling the SZ to buy one
