Any experiences moving from GTS to F430?

Fastest way off the line for an F430 F1 is to use launch control. Takes a bit of a bite out of the clutch though...

Thanks, Voicey. And what about in cars without LC? Or in cases where clutch life is valued..?

Is the F1 in GTS same as f430 or has 599 variant ?

More or less. Some software and housing changes, as far as I know. For example, 599 GTO TCU software can be flashed onto the GTS MC 'box. I had mine (now @WaveyDavey 's) and it made a tremendous difference. Someone with actual knowledge will likely be along soon to fine-tune my response. :)

Oh I would be very keen to know about this and if possible to do it here in NZ . Maybe couple with some ECU tuning/remap. I stick with GTS for now

I cannot agree with that statement. That is just factually not true

It's a couple of seconds quicker to 100 it's not a massive margin at all really. Yes on the B roads the 430's weight and power gain will dictate that it will handle better and pull away from a Strad/GTS. Ring times ain't massively different too really so factually it's not far off.

It needed the SDx software and a clever basteward, from memory. @BennyD knows a man who can, but he's in the UK.

I have driven hard along side one, in the strad. Neck and neck in a straight line.
Thank you. Someone with like me real World experience against it.

We have Voicey's F430 with us at Le Mans and we did some rolling 40mph to xxx mph drags and against a stock C63 AMG the AMG ripped it apart. My 3200 gave it a good run for it's money up to triple digits.

Get in a 458 and then do the same test. Light years away... The 458 was the game-changer for mid engined sports cars from Ferrari.

That AMG wasn't stock. It had Stuey in it. There's nothing stock about Stuey.

There a a point where I don’t care anymore about performance. I am sure a GTR chipped would eat anything with 4wheels, but I still much prefer the driving experience and sound of the Ferrari - especially with after market headers and open valves :p

Which from memory might be what Voicey has done to his. Along those lines, anyway, And it sounds wonderful.

I have a track session booked for next Friday, to drive a Gallardo, an F430 and a 997 turbo. Just a bit of thrashing about to see if I fancy any of them as a weekend fun car. And I'll go in the GC-MC by way of comparison.

Of these 3, it's the F430 I’m most interested in as it's the one I've never tried. Fingers crossed it stays dry for the day.

Shall report back in due course.
