When I removed my manifolds to do the oil water pump unit its fiddly on your back but more than doable.

Hi All,

Trying to make a bit more progress on this now I have come to terms with needing to change it! Thanks to Safrane for a quick meet on the weekend... it was pretty obvious with two cars side by side that there is noise coming with something the aux belt is turning and given it changes with the air con clutch engaged / disengaged its seems like a fairly safe bet that is the snag. As I mentioned before, the new belt was a lot tighter than the old one when I changed out the alternator so it will definitely have put the bearings in the AC compressor under more pressure. Just to be clear though, new belt etc are all good and correct parts... the old belt was just thoroughly old!

Anyway, question is... what's the difference between the Delphi model and the Sanden model? Eurospares list both but have a note on the Sanden model saying 'not for F1' which I can only assume means not for Cambiocorsa models? Any idea why?

Why the Delphi part numbers are so crazy I don't know but it does make it confusing! I'm going to phone a few suppliers this afternoon but if anyone has any thoughts on the above that would be great.

Cheers,

Chris

This looks like an absolute winner, thanks dude! I like £250 a lot more than any other price seen so far. Useful to know it is not such a convenient job for home mechanic.

Might just get under my car at home later to eyeball the part number. Want to be certain the QP V really does continue to use same part as the 4200

As Peter says, its a seized nose bearing in the AC pump that is now spinning in the housing so its not repairable.

Also, dont bother with used. Any pump that has been removed and open to the elements for only a day will seize internally.

Your best bet is an aftermarket one that can be had for around £250:
https://www.autoairconparts.co.uk/c...matic-may-2002-to-nov-2007-part-14-2074p.html

If left, and Peter will testify, the whole unit will seize and take your Aux belt off rendering the car underivable.

Fitting is a bit of a pig so factor in a specialist labour charge of a similar cost to the pump above.
