Well nearly 4 years here in New Zealand and a new chapter about to unfold.
Me and my French partner are on our way to Europe in October.
Thought I would be here for the rest of my days but now on to Mayenne in France.
Might see some of you at Le Mans.

Wow Phil & partner, that’s another massive step! Terry will be happy to have a Maserati mechanic somewhere near LeMans!!!

Seriously though that is great news and it will be wonderful to see you again.

Going to get into a Language school as I want to integrate properly.
We are lucky to have choices and options available as permanent residents NZ is always available for us but really looking forwards to being back in Europe.
Just the Big Move again and loading a container.
Telling my self its the last time.

See if you can get the channel 4 program Escape to the Chateau with Dick Strawbridge and his partner Phil, now 4 series of the mad cap ex Royal Engineer of Scrapheap Challenge fame; quite a good watch and very inspiring.

How did you get into NZ in the first place, I believe it is quite tough entry requirements?
I was in Australia for a while and always regret not hoping over to NZ even for a visit.
I understand why you are going to France though given your wife's nationality, so can I have your place in NZ?

Congrats Phil...you will be getting me as a guest, I love Mayenne area and a place I wanted to retire too but the missus is firmly planted in the UK.

Anyway, let us see the house your after, you can get an old Chateau out there for €400k might need a bit of a tickle but will aid stopping you getting fat on cheese and wine.

You got ants in your pants, Phil? Anyway, congratulations! That'll be a culture shift after NZ. I look forward to seeing you back in Europe soon. Good luck with all the planning and containers etc etc.

PS, Mayenne - good choice!

Congrats Phil. Look forward to seeing a 'Moving back to the other side of the world thread'.

I assume you're bringing the Maser back? Or are you selling it for a small fortune over there and picking up a left hooker?

I do like France, just as well with my Mother-in-law, sister-in-law, and brother-in-law all living over there!

Would a self-teach Ling**phone course be of any interest?
Picked up the full blown "dum-fu*k to expert" course several years back.
Can't beat absorbing language from local life but it would be a good intro.
