Alternative parts, what everyone needs to know...

Ignition coils 3200GT, just got a set of Valeo 245127 coils for the Diva, changed the rubber extension and all good. Came from Trodo in Germany at £25 each, very quick post. And yes got clobbered for duty.
 
My Fuel Tank Lock was broken on the 3200 and searching for a replacement I found out the same part has also been used on the Alfa 166, so yesterday I ordered a good looking used one for €15,- and I can confirm it is exactly the same.
Alfa part nr., 60621031
There are more Alfa models that used the same for sure the GTV also used it.

Boot release actuator mechanism? any equivalents? I'm assuming my one is faulty but I've a few checks before I start looking.
 
Cabin / pollen filter: I used Borg & Beck BFC 1205, listed for Alfa 166 and Lancia K, £19. Exact fit in the Maserati plastic surround, no idea about the filter material though! ETA: 4200GT

Are you sure it faulty ? And what car is it ? Pm me if you want having just gone through this issue i can probably point you in the right direction to fix if its not the actuator.
 
Having just replaced the fuel pumps and mounts I can safely say that shopping around you can find the same parts at very different price levels. 2 Bosch pumps and filter at Parts Saver $150. Alternative pump mounts (Lancia Delta) Projoe NDL 37euro each. Pump system and parts diagram can be found under Ferrari 550 Maranello (011). Could not find anti vibe pads from any other source (Maranello Classic Parts 38pds ea).

Thermostat replaced and can confirm Fiat 600 - 850 (tractor) the exact same ones - 80 degrees. Cost about 70pds ex Australia. For me in NZ that was way cheaper than anything out of Europe.

Made from finest chinesium and sold by Galaxy auto parts i.e. Mr Noormahomed Omar Jhaveri. A quick search at Companies House would be worthwhile. A known and reputable car parts agent he aint. The two year warranty would have more value if it was written on bog roll.

The problem today is everything is coming from China even Genuine Dealer Parts.
 
Has anyone found alternatives for a 4200GT fuel vapour filter, 220074? I've found one at Scuderia Car Parts £126.52 but I'm sure Maserati didn't make their own... maybe something from the Fiat group used the same part?

Other than Ferrari using the same filter too, doesn't look like it using AI
 
What’s the latest on brake discs and pads for a 4200? I’ve had mine skimmed and plenty of life in the pads but just for future reference. I know years ago there were SM group buys.
