Dem have a word with Tony at HR Owen. If you want to come on 27th March to the open day perhaps he can have some ready for you. How good the end result is really depands how badly the wheels are damaged. I have to say that kerbed wheels look terrible.

Dem my local body shop charged me £180 to completely refurb all 4 wheels, fantastic job.

Is it worth the agro, a smart repair will cost you over £70, just get em done.

Refurbed Mine Myself

I did mine myself the other week,

Just took one wheel off at a time, masked off the tyre and used metal filler on any deep marks, rubbed them down then a coat of grey primer followed by 4 coats of silver alloy spray paint, left it overnight and then a couple of coats of clear laquer and they look fine. only had to do two wheels but for the sake of an hours time and a couple of pounds for the paint i'm very happy with the result. Next time I kerb a wheel i wont be so upset now, knowing that its really not that big or expensive a job.

Thats great work Nick. Trouble is when you dont have silver wheels, or you have to do one on one side, then they tend to stick out like a saw thumb but glad it worked out for you.

I have the mercury graphite wheels and they are a pain to match, hence having all 4 done, now the bodyshop has the exact paint match, and have given me a small pot of touch up which i can thin and spray with my airbrush.

Nice job.

Hi Matt,

Yes that's right, having silver wheels makes it possible to do myself, I was interested to see what it looked llike when i had only done the front wheel. But was quite surprised that the match was so close that i couldn't see a difference, I did do both on the one side though, it appears i'm not very acurate at parking on the near side :)

Hi Conaero, Re the Murcury Grey / Graphite refurb', don't suppose you have a name / reference for the colour your indi' used? I'm wanting to go for Graphite, but am struggling to get a good match. Cheers, Emtee.

Nope, tried to match it, fail terribly, and had to have all 4 done, its the only way. I could give you my mix, but bet it would not match the OEM paint.
