Hi all.

At present have a Busso phase 2 Alfa Spider in Zoe.
Thanking of going mad and going for a Maserati 4200 Spider.
Seems to be a cheap way to an exotic car.
I've searched for a 'buy it guide' but only found the 3200 Spider.
Anyone got any tips on which models and what to avoid?
Thanks

Welcome and what a way to go into a new decade.
Budget how much to spend ?
Manual box or Cambio Corsa F1 box.
Original Classici or Facelift.
Ultimate spend a GS.
Have you searched on the likes of Autotrader and Piston heads.
Good Luck.

Buy a facelift 4200 Cambiocorsa or a Gransport.

4200 Spyder is a great car but it is a different league to Alfa in running costs. I would have another tomorrow and although loads complain about scuttle shake on early cars from what I found it is no worse than an Alfa spider and I didn't find the facelift that much better. Never driven a GS Spyder but they are rare and you won't see one for £20k

It will just about get you into one, there’s 6 for sale under £23k, with 3 of those being £19950 or less.

What Dicky said.....I was looking at prices yesterday and couldn't believe where ther now sit. And Remeber the ones at 23k are asking price so there must be a deal in there as its a buyers market. So much car for 20k....

Another MC Victory in Blue Dicky!
They tend not to hang around but I can’t help but feel it’s at the top of the market price wise.
Time will tell.
Ewan?

I’m a big fan of the MCV. But I’ve been there, seen it, done it, and for broadly similar money, I find the 2 seat Strad the better car.

Prices of GS have certainly dropped through 2019. MCV values haven’t suffered the same % loss, but have still softened.

Yes Wattie, another beauty. It isn’t a cheap car but it is absolutely stunning throughout and wants for nothing.

Gransport priced have softened a little but I do think it has now got to the stage that 3200’s are at. Basically a two tier market. The good low mileage LE’s are circa £30k and average/high mileage early cars circa £20k.

A busso Alfa spider in Zoe is a very rare car.
I’d be looking to keep that as well as a Maserati !
