Having now given my N Ring a thorough test drive, first impressions, its going in for Alfissimo Springs, Spacers, and a Center Gravity suspension setup. Its ballistically quick, but at present, it wallows. Not much, but noticeable. Point and squirt fast, but wet weather, forget it, the Stradale feels miles more planted. But a fantastic piece of engineering.

Be sure to check which springs you have on it; if this is a pre facelift car? There were three heights of spring fitted over the years.

2016/17 cars are the lowest then they went a lot higher, then there is yet another one.

Certainly not wallowing on the 2016/17 springs in my view. 2018 cars were definitely on high springs unless changed by the previous owner for example.

About the same as the Gransport does. Why did I swap? Rarity, badge, V8, just wanted a Maserati... oh, and I could afford to pay cash for the Gransport. Rates on PCPs for a new Quad keep going up, as does the asking price. I'm assuming Urby won't be Whatsapping me to ask for more money.

I'm still gazing longily at the adverts but I'll be long dead before they're even in my price range

The only one under 30k is an Australian import on a Q plate with a replacement engine due to flood damage

He might have that a while , though for some reason it's only £250 to tax it

If it had an engine at 2000 miles and it's on 26000 miles it's probably OK but it's nowhere near cheap enough to risk it because you'll have the same problem they have , finding a buyer when you want to sell it

I have a friend who is selling his 2018 high miler. 85000miles I think. He was asking 33 but 29-30 is more realistic probably.

Looking back, my 2017 one was very cheap to run. Tax of about £280-£300 a year, from memory pre April 2017 is lower tax, and I bought one of those silly Alfa Service plans, 3 services for about £500. This included the major service and change of aux belts which costs about £1200 usually. About £2000 worth of servicing for £500 :)

It too Alfa about 2 years to cotton on that the Mopar service plan was massively wrong/underpriced!

£695 a year tax for the Gransport now to do only a handful of miles - still worth it though :)

Having at last given my NRing a real blast for a few hundred miles. The Magazines who have voted this Car of the Year are not exaggerating. It has effectively 4 modes. The basic auto mode is very silent and stunningly quick. Going up one notch, its still silent and quick, Next level is Dynamic, and after that Race. Has a weird grumble. exhaust wise, drive wise go very very carefully in the wet. However , my Stradale, whilst slower, has far more theatre, and the noise level is the difference between Real Madrid and Fleetwood...Choose one car? My Stradale..
