£60k? I sold mine for £2500 25 years ago Identical model but mine had a contemporary electric (!) sunroof.

Sorry for the drift off topic. Thanks for posting the picture though.

I’ve got the old Alfa bit sorted, had this for about 10 years now. The Giulia Quad did feel special day to day, the pre facelift one anyway, as special day to day as any new ish car has felt to me. Older cars are just more of an event, and I think that applies to stuff from the 90’s and 2000-2010 ish too, most cars of that age and before are just more engaging.

It cost over10k for the prep and painting, and that's after 5 years off and on body resto... restoring old cars nicely nowadays aint cheap!

There is a blue GT Junior 1600 RHD in the UK for £25k. Even if you take the bit in the advert where it says ‘rust free’ with a Bonneville-sized pinch of salt, it seems a bit of a bargain

To be honest. having had loads of Porsche RS/ GT3RS, and loads of other performance saloons which I loved to bits, suddenly, one day, I just literally grew out of them. At the age of 75. Mind you, my wife just wouldnt go in them. Too cramped, too noisy, too obvious. .Two years later, these two crackers should see me out, together with a Mercedes SL63------ and our trusty 2009 Touareg! But if someone asked for my take as a long time dealer, on the best car ever------. It might just have to be a Mercedes W124 E60...

An exceptional taste in motor cars. Though while I respect your reasoning, and appreciate the Quad and the GranTurismo, the 993 RS is special. Was yours a Touring or a full-on sternum-destroying ClubSport?

Having driven the E60… it is a very cool-looking thing. Is the premium worth it over a 500E/E500, I’d say no, but full power to your right foot if you get one!

(I’d take an Alpina B10 Biturbo in Europe and a Lotus Carlton in the UK instead though ;))

Probably one of the better MC features I wrote.
The best bits of which had to be excised for the sanctity of our ability to remain free men.

I have probably sold more Alpina B10 Bi Turbos, Lotus Omegas and Mercedes 190 Evolution 2's than anyone in the UK,... the Alpina and Lotus were very quick at the time.

Love the Quad, sadly selling my Veloce but there was a time where I could have got a Quad

I love them and see them as real good value
