More I hear you talk about her the more I want to drive one....Do you have the carbon sports sear option ? Been looking at the ones for sale to see what they look like but can't find one with this option.

I didn't go for the carbon backed seats for several reasons.

Firstly they are a 3K option, but mostly you then have manually adjusted seats with no seat heating.

This is very much a daily drive car, so It was essential to have seat heating. I also get a heated steering wheel and electric memory seats with lot's of adjustment.

I think it may also restrict whether you can have the convenience pack too (comfort keyless access and some other bits and pieces)

So it was less money for quite a lot more features and comfort.

It's all there to play around with on the configurator.

Having said all of this the carbon backed ones do look cool!!!!

Such a shame that they're not going to build an estate. That would be one **** of an all rounder.

That looks rather special Gus. I'm not envious at all. Nope, not one bit (I am really). I'll be tapping you up to take me for a spin round the block next time I'm down your way.

Congratulations. This appears to be everything the journos have led us to believe. Beautiful colour too!

Interesting to note that NJS (Alfa Specialist) are already doing remaps on these - unlocking more power and something to do with the exhaust flap so it opens in non race mode? Saw it mentioned on the Alfaowner website...

A quick update, I drove my fathers 2010 C63 Performance Pack Plus (480bhp and LSD) Estate again by chance the other day (stuff to move).

The AMG is a car that I have always really enjoyed driving, but it felt like an an oil tanker when compared to the Alfa!!

I adjusted back after a while, but the whole thing felt so much heavier and leaden, especially the steering and turn in. The ride was also harsh in comparison.

Performance wise the AMG is still fantastic when you wring it's neck, but even when wringing it's neck it felt noticeably slower.

So no surprise that a 2010 car is behind a 2017 car, but before this I thought the AMG was pretty bang on in most areas, with nice steering and fun to drive. I certainly prefer it to my fathers 2015 C7 RS6, which although super rapid and capable, doesn't have the fun factor and crisp turn in of the AMG.

In the Alfa I seem to be spending a lot of my time flicking up every stone in every car park, those tyres are so sticky!

With regards to performance, there is no doubt that you do get full power in all modes, every mode is electric once you floor it, it's more or less just the mapping of gearbox and throttle sensitivity in between that alters.

If anyone is comparing with the Ghibli S, don't forget the Ghibli is something like 1900KG VS the Alfa's 1600 (or some say less) weight but with an extra 100bhp.

To drive and in responses it almost feels like a 1300KG RWD hot hatch!

Tell your dad he is a legend.

Lol. He is a bit of a legend for lending me his AMG so often, and also letting me drive the RS6 too. He runs a two estate car system, can get his bike in the back of both, and the AMG is now officially relegated to the "dog carrier". Don't think he can bare to sell the AMG, hard to lose out on that V8.

Thanks for all the positive comments guys, can still barely believe it's mine!

Tonight I put the exhaust permanently in noisy mode, the same as Race mode.

I did this by undoing a couple of wheel arch trim clips and screws and pulling the vacuum pipe off the exhaust valve actuator. I then plugged it with a bolt and cable ties, tieing the pipe up.

I thought I'd try this for a while, particularly as three people have commented that 'it's a bit quiet' at work!

So far it sounds good but it's also liveable, no drone at 60mph, but have yet to do a motorway trip.

I'm going to do this for a while, until someone locally can map dynamic mode to full noise on, like njs and others can I am told do already.

It's been silly really, as standard I almost ended up driving half of my time in race mode just to get the full noise!

Because it's so quick when you are just leaning on it and then backing off, you don't often enough get the exhaust flap open on dynamic.....

The more I read Gus the more I want one. I am a speed freak and the GTS as nice as it is is too heavy which means it's not fast enough :(

Now u understand why I am considering changing. Love the GTS - don't think anything looks better but by god it makes a song and dance accelerating past a mondeo

I think the QV looks a fantastic car - but not 62k's worth on an Alfa.
I was tempted by a ghibli when they first came out- now you could almost get 2 for the price of some new ones - even with no mileage.

The qvs will always be rarer, but they will be great value used when they drop to low 40s

Picked my Giulia QF up on Saturday. It's not your average spec with yellow calipers and black paintwork:

IMAG2058_1.jpg

It also came with the "wrong" wheels due to a f**k up by the dealer when ordering... but I actually prefer them now over the ubiquitous teledials.

Having previously owned a GT-S it's not really surprised me.

It's as comfortable and cossetting as the GT-S in Normal mode.

However, stick it in Dynamic (or, if you dare, RACE) mode and it's a totally different animal to the GT-S. The turbocharged motor really pushes hard past 4,000rpm and the handling is in a different league.

Of course, the infotainment is also light years ahead.

You certainly don't get the sense of occasion you get with the GT-S and the engine lacks the drama and character.

It's a very exciting car to drive. I really like it and feel very lucky to use at a daily... something I couldn't do with GT-S.

That looks really nice mate. Agree as a daily there is not much to compete.
Do you miss the GTS at all?
Can you post some interior shots?

Looks great Mike. Which dealer was it? If it was the York one we've had patchy dealings with them.
