What does the F1 pump sound like? From memory, it shouldn't prime until the door is opened.

Using the key, I'd absolutely expect the alarm to sound. The central locking and alarm are separate (although linked). What happens if you press unlock *then* open the door with the key? I expect the alarm will NOT sound

Disarm with the fob, then use the key and yes no alarm, car opens fine.

The fob just won't unlock the central locking.

I'll ask when I go for it's service. Its already had over £400 spent fault finding in the past. Hopefully fresh eyes might spot something.

I can only imagine there's some kind of communication failure between the Alarm ECU and the central locking.

When you take the motor in for a service ask if they have a spare ECU and key from a breaker if they have fit their ECU and using their key see if the problem is sorted if yes

then your problem is with either the ECU or the circuit board in the fob if your not far from Bromsgrove Vic at Migliore cars ltd might be able to help you out he has breakers
phone 01527 576355 .

I'm East Midlands, so not a million miles from there.

I'll have a chat with Shiltech.

I confirmed today when I unlocked the car, click fob and very definitely straight away a high pitched pump whine or similar, then I unlock the car with the key.

Transmitter is definitely working then
