airbag on witness

My 3200 GT has been completely out of battery, while charging and starting the car, the driver airbag control is on.
Does anyone know how to restore normal function to turn off the witness? thanks

Several of the guys who had the 3200 and are very able technically are at the Le Mans Classic in France this weekend....best to wait until Tuesday next week before reposting on your thread ok?

Turn the Battery isolator off [next to battery], for 30 mins. It should after reconnecting, turn airbag light off.

disconnect the battery several times for hours, but when reconnecting the airbag error persists, please, if anyone knows how to reset the airbag control unit to turn off the light, it would be helpful. Thank you very much everyone for your patience.

I'm pretty sure that once the light has been triggered you need an SD2 or similar reader to reset it.

Concurr completely with Rotorheadcase , Airbag light will only be extinguished by SD2 ONCE its been activated , saying that if its been triggered by an anomily then it may well be sorted by a battery reset

My drivers airbag light has been on for about 3 years, I had an mot recently and this got switched off using the sd2 as suggested above. However the light was back on again before I picked the car back up following the MOT. I was told its probably a switch in the glove compartment, there is also an airbag ecu but that is unlikely. I have heard its a simple fix to replace the switch in the glove box, if that doesn't resolve it I might get a new airbag and then finally the ecu if all else fails. I've seen all the parts on ebay recently. Sorry I can not be more specific about the parts, I haven't really bothered lkooking into this, yet.

It can also be a broken wire under the drivers seat. A bit of soldering, and all good again.

Same problem With my GS
Airbag switch in glovebox replaced.
£40 for new switch approx from memory, sorted at Autoshield whilst I waited.
I doubt it will be the Ecu .

Airbag light in my gs came on and had it cleared three times using sd2. Now permanently on ( can no longer be cleared with sd2).
It is showing as the drivers side airbag when plugged in.

I haven't bothered to have it investigated yet.........

Have you tried a system reset..?? Try turning off the power to the car with the switch in the boot, leave for 10 minutes, then switch the power back on..!! Now try starting the car, does light go off..??
