Air filter

Hi
Anyone used a good replacement air filter for the granturismo?
K+N do some but it doesn't list the granturismo.
Alternatively anybody had any experience with Bmc filters?
Thanks

I have a BMC panel filter in the air box of my GT but purely because it can cleaned & reused rather than wastefully replaced at each service. I can't imagine it really makes any real world performance difference like a cone filter would but to my knowledge, there is nothing like that available off the shelf for a GT.

If you went for a cone filter, you would certainly get more suck but it would need an air intake in your bonnet even bigger than the one in the Stradale

Just a feeling, but that cone filter looks too small for a 4.7lt V8 sucking air at high rpm.

Regarding the BMC, it gives me shudders (maybe I'm wrong here) with its oiled element - maybe an old wives tale, but oil damages the MAF eventually.

If the oil is applied to the filter in the correct, sparing manner, then I can't see it being an issue and these oiled filters are very widely used, and I am not aware of anyone having any issues.

As for the cone filter, it works just fine for the Trofeo cars with the over sized intake!

BMC are available from eurocarparts. They have to order them in though. Mine was on sale for £66 with free delivery.

Cool thanks.
Had a bsr cone filter on my saab turbo x. Loved it.
Havnt got the air intake so will have to stick to panel version because of engine temps.

Yep I have the BMC on the Strad too.

As StuW it’s more for ease of cleaning than performance gains.
