But seems nice...depends on how many you've looked at, how much advice you've taken when going to view cars too, plus digging deep to find relevant answers!

A brand new engine though?

I don't think it was brand new. Also the car has been off the road for about 6 months

On the positive side engine was replaced 6 years, and it has been owned by the current person for 7 years

I think it is about right for the car considering the above but &k....too much

I'm fussy, and knowing the above i wouldn't feel comfortable buying. However i know my ideal car is out their.

How much do you think a good Ghibli GT 97/98 low milage example be? about £6-£7k

The last one on PH was up for 12k which sold...It was toooo much money but looking at what about, which isn't much, I would say good low mileage ones are 9/10k or thats what they seemed to go up for, what they sell for is a different matter....... There was a red one was up for around 6k recently but which looked great but the amount of rust that had been sorted on the car scared me.....I still have the pics somewhere.

If you want a good Ghibli it will be around 12-14 grand for a GT & 18-20 for a cup.

I have not yet seen a better example since I got mine just about a year ago, 32000 miles two owners etc. It was up for £13,000 but once BM hade done a full inspection I gave the report to the seller & we agreed a discount. Still needs a small amount of paint to get it just right but unless you find a show car this is always going to be part of the ownership experience.
I had to compromise on colour over condition and since the 1st big service bill to sort the car, running costs have been almost nill. Needs an annual service now but that will be minimal.

The Light metalic blue cup that's been for sale for about 9 months has a very used interior & high milage although well looked after. £16995

The red cup is much lower miles good service history, but again from second hand knowledge needs a little work to paint. 16995

I have not seen the Grey one so can't make comment, but the colour combo is very nice again around £17000

So in all honesty book price for a GT is going to be around 5-8 grand but in reality a good example will set you back as much as a well used cup. If you can find one.

To sum up they will be much more collectable than a QP in years to come .

Good info there Pibbow...................interesting to get the low down on previous generations of Maseratis.....which will benefit current prospective owners!

thanks Pibbow

I had a ghibli about 5 years ago, wish i never sold it! It only had 35k, FSH full bare metal respray, perfect interior. I struggled to sell it for £7k!

The QP IV was a itched i wanted to scratch! If the Ghibli are going for £14, i think i will settle on on QP IV, or i might sell one of my alfa and save for a 3200 AC

3200 AC is a fantastic car but not as involving as a Ghibli I can assure you. I have said it before its a 300bhp twin turbo Mk 1 escort (handling) I LUVVVVVVVV mine.
