Admiral Multi car insurance renewal

There is an optimum date related to risk which is around 4 weeks before the renewal date. The theory is that someone who is organised and seeking renewal at that point is lower risk, or at least so say the numbers.

I normally do the go compare thing about 4 weeks before, but don't buy. Leave it another week, revisit and more often than not, the price will drop a little more.

Websites use cookies to record what you have been looking at and either increase or decrease the price slightly to hook you in to making a purchase.

Well comparison websites came back with Esure at £349 for the Maserati and £635 for the VW.
The problem is Esure will not cover the Maserati for SportingBear Charity events, bloody mingebags.

So called Admiral and the nice lady has reduced the Maserati to £455, and VW to £501.

Same as my experience...well worth putting in the call to them!

Interesting, I'm sure i recall Martin Lewis saying 21 days before renewal is the optimum time to use comparison websites.

Morning All
I have just had my Admiral Multi Car insurance renewal quote.
2011 Maserati Granturismo S £580.16 I have 25+ years no claims lodged on this car
2013 VW Touareg £601.44
Total £1329.48 Ouch !
Seems high for a 52 year old, clean license with 25 years plus no claims in a PR8 postcode?

I wonder how this compares to others multi car insured forum members?

Any pointers are gratefully received.

Thanks
James
This made me laugh... I do have a 2013 VW Touareg and am paying £625 w admiral (multi cars too) and live within the m25 and have 10 unprotected NC. So I’d expect you to pay less than me on that, and my F430, which is insured for at least twice the value of your GT costs me £680... so I think you could be getting a better deal. They are usually good in matching the best quote out there. They did knock off £400 on my renewal LY as they were that competitive.

At last renewal my multi-car policy covered my two Maseratis, two Range Rovers, one Ferrari, one Venturi, one Porsche and one Mercedes, for a very reasonable sum. I then called to add the new Volvo estate and they wanted another £1300 - crazy. So that car is insured separately for a few hundred pounds. It’s a ring-around game, but at least it’s only once a year.

Admiral want 0 accidents of any kind , clean licence non modified cars.
A guy on facebook wanted to put spacers on his mustang , they wanted £200 extra as it was a "dangerous modification"

Just done a multicar on admiral. Never worked out right before. 3 cars, £780. QP was £230 for 314 days. The RR was 399 with 0 ncd.

Not bad I thought. Next year will be different obviously.

Have had multi car with Aviva on the grancabrio and an audi SQ5 fpr 3 years, each time at renewal the premium has gone up considerably and each time I have gone online for a new quote using exact same info and got it a hundred to a hundred and fifty cheaper.

They also ask about speed awareness and increase your premium if you’ve had one - it’s still speeding sir.

I've got some BS going on with insurance at the moment
I'm a named driver on my wife's policy , 2017 we were hit hard from behind by 2t of jaguar , I successfully claimed for injury.
2019 I dropped my son off at uni, on the way back I stopped at a roundabout , guy behind didn't
**** me , all on dashcam

My insurance provided a solicitor , I'd just about got over the back injury when the 2nd crash set it off again, you don't bounce as well at 60

His insurance admit full liability , then I find out we're both insured with the same company and I'm using a solicitor they use to sue them, great

My wife doesn't claim on her insurance, notification only , they fix her car

Roll on 9 months and I get a letter which basically says we dont believe you to be at fault but as we are unable to recover monies from the third party insurer this is a fault claim, case closed

So I ring them, they're not happy paying damages despite a doctors report so because of this they're not paying for anything as they consider it all one claim and she's lost ncb.

I ask how they couldn't recover payment from the 3rd party when the 3rd party is them

The reply was, we have 2 teams who act for each party then decide the outcome , so employees who don't want to lost their jobs decide the outcome between them , doesn't seem entirely impartial

I think this is BS because
A : She never claimed on her insurance they just paid out.
B : My claim is nothing to do with her claim so surely they can't lump them together and not pay for anything, what if there'd been other passengers in the car
C :They admitted full liability

I now have a fault claim against my name when they admit I wasn't at fault and it wasn't even my policy.

******* insurance companies

This is something very much to watch for with admiral. It was even mentioned on my last speed awareness course :p
I believe they’re not supposed to ask, but do... and if U don’t declare, can find yourself uncovered....
Far as I know, no one else asks.

After 8 years of buying multicar cover from Admiral for 3 cars, I have finally ditched them. My latest renewal quote for exactly the same cover for each car has increased by £470!! So I called them today to give them the bad news. I've gone to "Quote Me Happy" ( Aviva online insurance) which cost me around £500 less for better cover. Unreal......
To be honest the whole insurance industry is just one big RIP off and it needs investigating like PPI. I also tried to get a house building and contents insurance quote today but because I live 27ft above a small river (4ft wide, 1ft deep) 150m away from my house, only one company was interested in providing a quote out of 30+ insurance companies. Even the govt flood maps show that my house doesn't sit anywhere near the blue shaded flood zones in my valley. So why they wont quote is anyones guess. Classic case of "computer says no". Tossers all of them!

It is exactly 21 days before I have to renew which is probably why I got such a low price out of Aviva via "Quote me Happy".
But my point is that insurance companies generally don't give a FF in rewarding loyalty. They are all the same just looking to screw every last penny out of the punters. So all you can do is vote with you feet and find someone who is more competitive.

Just had my Admiral renewal through and decided to look at individual quotes ... .which with the help of a friendly meerkat gave me a number to aim at.

10 minutes on the phone and they have knocked over 20% off and I'm a happy boy.

I decided to ditch them after 8 years. They tried to charge me over £800 more for a 3 car policy compared to last year which frankly was beyond insulting. So I didnt even give them a chance and went to "Quote Me Happy" (Aviva) who were £760 cheaper than what Admiral wanted.
I am sick and tired of most insurance companies just taking the P--- on both the price and the level of cover (or should I say what isn't covered!) and I've decided to fight back! None of them deserve any loyalty and frankly this industry is the next PPI scandal crying out to be properly investigated. The sooner the better....

I did as others advised. Did a pull on their website of my documents 3 to 4 weeks before renewal. Without clearing cookies did quotes on 3 or 4 others. Aviva LV nor Adrian Flux provided quotes for the GT, just covering the BMW and FIAT Spider.
Let them stew as advised.
Admiral came in with a small increment from last year including house cover. No one else came near.
I was expecting a hike from initial loss leader year
Cookies worked.

Now cleared down
