AdBlue consumption question

So the EMS light is up/amber which has been intermittent for a while now. What I’ve noticed is the AdBlue consumption has gone up considerably, averaging around 1L per tank. With about 9.75L the car is telling me that I have about 1400 miles of AB left, which seems a ridiculously hjigh consumption rate to me.

Other than get it in to the garage, which I will this week, any ideas as to what I’m looking at in terms of issues?

Scanned it?

Stelvio is built in the same factory and the level sensors stick. Ad Blue (Porky pee) crystallises and restricts the sensors from working as it’s in the tank. Top it up, and the sensor is ok within around 72 hours as the crystals dissolve back into the solution. It’s the same on Macan’s so I’d suggest the same on your Ghibli/QP/Levante soot chuckers.

No, though obv they will when it goes in net week. When the EMS first came up the diagnostic thinggy had an intermittent fault on the NOX sensor, which if it’s happening again may mean the AdBlue is not being regulated and the valve is wide open throwing more in than is needed which may explain the burn rate.

Was wondering if this is a common issue or not?

Ive got (or hopefully had!) the NOx sensor error. A forced regen of the DPF solved it (for several months). It came back on a while ago and I did a self DPF clean (3k revs on an A road for about 15 mins) and again its gone and not come back.

I had loads of intermittent issues with nox sensor / engine warning light on my x class pickup but since switching to premium diesel & binning the supermarket stuff so far so good.
