Give it a month or so, and every spyder/cabrio/convertible will have an asking price 5-10% above what it is today! Roll on the summer....

Not so sure this year Woody.....They aren't selling and with fuel the way it is I really do not think you will see an up turn in prices summer or winter.

I think the downturn next winter will be when I pounce on one. Just like that in fact, would be snapping it up! Just visualising it with a GS bodykit, ProSpeed exhaust and a sway bar from FD plus the other goodies.

:bigcry3:

Certainly noticed Spyder prices increase from £17k up to £20k in spring summer. But at the moment, as you say, fuel costs put people off, even though they only 3k miles a year.

Extra 20p a litre on fuel for a car doing 18mpg for 3000 miles is... a whopping £150/year!! Hardly a deal breaker in my opinion.

As ever its the perception of huge cost.......in reality only a small percentage more of overall running costs, but when the cars are 2nd/2rd/4th cars in a family....then.......inclined to take it seriously!

Nah it had its full history according to Emblem and Carrs but i paniced because of a gap as did Carrs at first.
the previous owners sometimes serviced too soon and sometimes on time so it tended to look a little gappy from 2007-2009.It also had a major done by a Non-maserati garage (hiss, boo, spit!!)but all parts used were genuine maserati.
But i reality its 2008 service was done on the 30th december 2007 (early) so it didnt need anything other than an oil change and filter for 2008 (which it got)and then another proper service in mid 2009.But because of this early service in 07,it made the service records show as good up to 2007 then gaps until 2009 (when service and clutch was done) and "voila" panic over a years missed service ..but unnescessarily as its milages all stack up.

Still i leave the decision up to the buyer as to whether it is satisfactory or not,but i think its OK after having it explained by Martin and i guess if he says Its all good then maybe it is.
The car stands me at approx £26,000 with all the things i bought to make it "whole again" (some were needed and some where whims)and its going to be a very very hard car to let go of,believe me.
I guess i dont need to tell any of you guys, but not having a maserati is akin to losing a member of the family and i am going to be very sad to sell her.
She has offered me a faultless and exhilarating driving experience (and some clammy wet hands ,clammy wet trousers and slight Perspiration to the forhead at times) and if i was not worried about my licence and the fact that i have to get a more sensible car for 3 then i would be keeping her.
I cannot drive this car slowly even though i try my hardest, and as my brother points out..."The cop with the handheld speed detector will hear you coming from miles away and be "more than ready" when you come round that bend and bang (licence lost)"
He is probably quite right.
The cars got a presence in its own league, and a sound that draws admirers from a long way off and the sound of that V8 is the only noise i listen to when driving along in it.(Its got a radio? ....whats that for then? LOL).
Maybe i will look for a coupe and that will solve my problem to a degree, but i still have to slow down!
Hope you guys are all well and had a good Xmas and New year.
I work away a lot now and dont really get anywhere near a PC for Leisure,so have and will be quiet most of the time.
Still, I see the forums a far better place....
Have fun in whatever your driving in and remember that if you need something for the hot summer thats topless, well you wont get a great deal cheaper than £19k for a MY2004 (or will you?)

Was down in Plymouth last year and SERIOUSLY considered viewing your car but reality struck and I KNEW i wouldn't be ready to spend £20k+

If December hadn't been so critically awful for the restaurant trade then I would certainly be heading down to Exeter. Alas the VAT bill is due on the 11th so thwarted once again. Looks gorgeous though.
