The wonders of a dashcam - I could check where I'd been and was only in a LEZ so no charge - but it took all afternoon and several phone calls to work it out. The last time I'm going anywhere near London :(
I told you at the pub I didn’t think you’d cross ULEZ
From where you came from there was no need to go ULEZ zone

I’m glad

Thanks for this, I didn’t realise the Ace was just outside ULEZ, so with a bit journey planning I can avoid the charging zone from where I am. Well for now anyway.

I'm impressed with your confidence in my ability to follow/obey/understand a satnav (not all do!) I hope the rest of the evening was not too subdued following the news - I didn't catch it and was confused when getting home and Rob made me stand up and drink to the King.

That trip to the Orchard and Ace is now starting to look a bit expensive...

Apparently 38 in a 30 in Harefield, even though as I recall I was being pretty careful.
********
I was there and saw how carefully everyone drove pst the cameras in town, the A406 however I don’t know
Think I was behind you….it doesn’t add up

The problem he has is so many people attend to look at the cars and soak U.K. the atmosphere but don’t go in to spend any money, I have even seen people being cars along and site and east their own sandwiches and have a cuppa from a flask.

Use it or lose it.

It seems like a very third-rate process for taxing me £100 for driving around. More like a scam run out of a tin shed in Bangalore than the State magisterially controlling the behaviour of its citizens.

First you fill out, in black biro, a scruffy grey form giving all your details, incriminating yourself, contrary to common law.
Then a few weeks later you get another grey rag form telling you, very obscurely and confusingly, using thousands of words, to pay a fixed penalty and post your driving licence to Wales.
So you pay £100 - online, hurrah!
And fill out, in black biro, the new form with all the same old details, again, and post it, with your licence, Recorded Delivery, to the DVLA.
And then a few weeks later you get the same bit of paper back, with a rubber stamp on it, and your licence attached with a bit of sticky tape.

Presumably at the DVLA they batch them up, send them over to someone 'working from home' in Pont-ar-llechau who pretends to check that you paid, and that the licence matches the form, while watching the
rygbi on the telly, casually using his crappy rubber stamp and a bit of sticky tape to finish the slick process.
