Hi Mark,

Did you manage to get this sorted in the end? What was the damage? My GTS is now also showing the same symptoms...also seemlingly to a lack of use through the cold xmas/january weather!

Cheers,
Peter

Needs a new sensor, so a new wheel bearing. Will go in to Ftech to have this done in March. About £500 for the part and 2-3 hours to fit.

Thanks for the info gents. Fingers crossed it's just the one then! Also need my front parking sensors fixed/replaced so I guess I'll just get the lot done all at once.

I had a front parking sensor error too, but I just gave it a wipe and a whack and all fine now

Haha! I'd tried wiping them but didn't know about the 'whack' trick! :) ...Worth a go!

That looks quite close to main dealer rates. DL at Swindon usually match prices to alternative quotes. Might save a trek

DL at Swindon would want list price for the OE part at £617 +VAT, charge me 3 hours at £120 per, use the wrong screws, and suggest I pay for three other things that don't need doing.

Ftech in Exeter are buying the part at Eurospares for £466 +VAT, will charge me 2 hours at £70 an hour, and fix a few other minor glitches for free.

No comparison.

DL would be geographically convenient, if they were affordable and understanding. It would be even nicer to have a great Indy in Gloucestershire....

This is it in a nutshell, I would not be able to afford to run some of the cars I have had if I used main dealers, I have no faith in them whatsoever

Afternoon gents, I now have this issue too. I'm in Lowestoft and closest main dealer is 50 miles away in Colchester, with our awful roads it'll feel like 150 miles.

Upon google search I can't find a Maserati specialist closer, does anyone know of one? Or better still can anyone point me in the right direction for an OBD2 reader, the universal ones don't fit my connector.

Hi Mark,

Thanks so much for the Bentley garage heads up, I will call them tomorrow. Lol at Netherlands, I had to read your post twice. The car acts as if the battery is fully dead one minute, no lights or anything then fires up first try an hour later. electrical demons maybe.

The battery terminal connectors are pants but I've had the car almost a year now so highly unlikely it's that.

Thanks again.

I would love someone local (ish) to offer me to drive to them to meet and borrow their OBD2 reader - if that's not being too cheeky/optimistic.

..... electrical demons maybe....

It hardly needs to be said, but just disconnecting the battery for a while might cure everything. Especially if you also check that the batter is in tip-top condition before reconnecting. (Don't forget to also run round the car 4 times anticlockwise.) I've had the RAC put two new batteries into my QPV in 2 years (the 2nd under warranty). It seems to draw 2 amps for about 10 minutes after everything is switched off.

Probably your bearings have gone. (or more precisely the tiny little cheap plastic Abs sensor sealed inside with no hope of getting to and fixing and saving an absolute packet)

Of topic but does anyone have a Maxisys 908 in the Yorkshire or Edinburgh area? I want to reset the service schedule spanner on my QP, it's been serviced at local garage they do have a Maxisys but not one that can do the Maser service light....

There's a pint in it!

Had exactly the same on my QP last year. Turned out to be the front LH ABS sensor. Because it's sn integral part of the hub it means a new hub at a cost of £620 plus 2 hours labour and of course VAT. So you won't get any change out of £1k. But to be honest if could be worse, it could be the ABS master pump and ECU module, which will cost over £2.5K + labour + VAT for a new one. So fingers crossed it's just the sensor.
