Hello all. Hope this is ok, but here goes - I’m the editor of a new magazine dedicated to 80s, 90s and 00s magazine. It’s a glossy printed magazine that’s to be published quarterly, beginning in Q1. You’ll be able to order it online for home delivery (wherever you are in the world). More to come via www.stradamagazine.co.uk and www.facebook.com/stradamagazineuk

Some of you may recognise the 550...

Great magazine idea.

I wish you guys every success. With Evo becoming unfortunately less about the thrill of driving and more about facts and figures. There definitely seems space for a magazine that describes the actual driving experience.

My car also squeezes in to the time period

Good luck!

Nice work Nathan and glad to see you have found a replacement to MC.

Will be interested to see the mag. Is their a trial edition or trial subscription to check out the merch before long term commitment?

This sounds like a car mag that I might actually enjoy - good luck with the venture.

Out of interest, what are the intended key differences between this new mag and your previous, Modern Classics (apart from this being quarterly not monthly)? Also, will the paper stock be better than was the case with MC?

Sounds great. Always enjoyed MC and have been missing it.

If you are looking for copy features I have a unique prototype Aston from the 00’s that may suit. It’s been in other mags and has a fascinating fully documented history. PM me if interested.

Well done Nathan!!!

I have not bought Evo for a number of years as it’s boring (for me anyway).

I’ve also cancelled my subscription to Octane as that is way too “high brow” for me.

Since Modern Classics is no more, my only subscription which I’ve had for about 15 years is Classic Cars..that is my bible.....

So if you are not another Octane-copy, then you will have my money...

As an aside, my brother in law was one of the editors of Max Power until it was canned by EMAP... he has been reviving it recently in terms of appealing to those “hooligans” (tongue in cheek) who have now grown up (sort of) and the whole thing has really taken off and they are generating revenue from jt... so you are in the right era mate....

Good luck!

Paper stock will be higher quality, and the issue size will be much bigger to accommodate longer form features - the features themselves will largely be twice the word length.
That’s not to do MC and its publishers a disservice; very different market proposition and as such that mag required a very different make up that accounts for the fiscal realities of monthly newsstand sales. So I don’t see it as a competitor to the likes of Octane, Classic Cars, Evo et al, more as an addition.
It is important to note that the tone, and the nature of the cars covered, won’t be exactly the same as Modern Classics. Attainable exotica is what Strada is about.
For commercial reasons I don’t want to go into too much detail online, but media packs are available with a breakdown of how it will be different...

Good luck, a tough time to launch anything on paper rather than online but there's clearly still a market for it and I still prefer to flick a page rather than swiping a screen. Look forward to checking it out
