Back in the day there use to be a mini van near us with a mid engine driving the rear wheels. There was a lot of speculation aboutnwhat was in it with us kids but eventually it turned out to be a simple V4 Ford engine from a Corsair / Consul / Transit

I've used mine this week getting rid of foliage I've cut down it's such a useful little car.

Finally was able to put them together this afternoon for comparison; quite a surprise as I thought the DS would be much longer - not by much. Front and rear seating in the R5e could only be described as ‘snug’ for four whereas the DS allows five to loll about in comfort (and style). I guess it’s all that protection these days yet the DS has acres of crumple at front and rear.

I actually really like both of those. What’s the steering like in the R5? The Ms’s pug is brilliant except for the lifeless steering.

The R5 steering effort can be modified - low medium high- and we use high for which there are no complaints. I have just put a new/recon power steering rack in the DS and the difference from the old worn/leaking unit is remarkable- fingertip light!

It's surprising how little room there is in the back of the new R5. I guess mostly down to the floor and not easy/impossible? To put your feet under the front seats.
