A/C EVAPORATOR REPLACEMENT

Has anyone had the pleasure of replacing their A/C evaporator in a 4200 or Gransport? I have removed the dashboard and heater core after being advised that the A/C leak was probably from the evaporator. Having exposed the evaporator, leak testing confirmed a small leak from the lower part of the evaporator. So, any idea how to remove it? Also, it looks like I can't just get a replacement evaporator. Any help or advice greatly appreciated.

Looking at the pipe orientation in this pic



I would say it is the same as an Alfa 166 evaporator



It looks like the whole heater box will need to come out to change it. Whether you can get a new 166 evap is anyone’s guess, but you might be able to find an outfit to fabricate a replacement.
