575M with aftermarket exhausts, Anyone tried them?

I recently bought a 575M. I find it a bit quiet and doesn't really let the engine sing as I think a V12 should.
I spoke to Larini who suggested secondary sports cats which are about £2400 plus Vat. I don't like a car that drones or is too noisy at motorway speeds ( say 60-85)
Does anyone have experience of the Larini products or other aftermarket parts and able to give some views?

I have the Larini secondary sports cats on my Strad and am happy with the sound. Really quite loud when in Race mode, but in normal driving and when cruising on the motorway, they're not obtrusive at all.

Hey guys, sorry I don't visit SportsMaserati very often these days!

As Safrane mentioned, I have experience of Larini over many years, firstly on a QP, where Larini used my car to develop the full system, and I absolutely loved it...

...and on my 500 which had a stock exhaust and Tubi back-boxes when I first got it which I found a little quiet, just as Paul mentioned I felt the engine wasn't really singing as it should, so I added the Larini 'Sports' centre section back in 2012 (I think) and I am still very happy with the change.

Not too intrusive at low speeds, no cabin booming, and just enough rumble when applying some gas!

We have been on a number of euro tours including Spa, Le Mans etc, and I never get tired of the sound.

Thanks for that. Very interesting to hear and read. I appreciate noise or sound is subjective. ( Keith Moon story springs to mind). I don't like a drone as too many systems have. I think i have a stainless steel aftermarket system on all my bangers apart from the T2.
Do you have any videos with sound of your car being driven?
Regards
Paul

Lovely to hear from you Enzo, all good in your world?

Spoke to Loz yesterday, he is finally retiring from his African adventure in April and one of his first jobs is to collect his GS from us.

Hi Paul,
Unfortunately no videos, but if you are not in too much of a hurry, we can try to meet up when this horrible situation is behind us and you can hear what it is like from inside and outside the car if you wish. I am based in Essex.
Regards,
Enzo.

Hi Matt,
Lovely to be here, I do check in from time to time as I miss Maserati ownership...

All good here, (or as well as can be under these circumstances), can't wait to get behind the wheel again, 550 was serviced in Jan so ready to rock-n-roll as they say!

Hope all is well with you and yours?

Good to hear Loz is finally coming back home.

Cheers,

Hi Enzo
Thank you for the kind offer. I live just south of Glasgow although have family and friends in London. I hope to be back down when this lockdown eases. Likewise if you are up here in Gods chosen Country give me a shout.

I checked the car today and found that there are no back silencer boxes. It is a straight through pipe from the centre section. Not sure what make they are as was trying to see this under the car on the floor. They look as if they have been on for a long time.

Anyone else have these?

the previous seller advised they are Tubi back pipes. I see they don't make them any longer.

Cheers,

Regarding the QPV system, could you share the parts that you had fitted and what was the result?

I would like a little bit more spirit from the exhaust of my early DS (like the GTS?) but not something that alters radically the character of the car which in the end of the day is a family sedan.

Re the QPV, mine was a 2005 duoselect car...I had 200 cell sports cats, club sport centre section and the sports quad tip rear boxes.

This certainly gave the v8 more spirit...a lot more! so if you do not want to radically alter the character, this is probably a step too far.

I loved it and I also found european travel was really good fun, not too intrusive inside the cabin...again, this is very subjective so one mans loud is another mans quiet. All I can say is that one trip covered over 2000 miles and I would have been happy to do it all over again.
