Took the 4200 for a wheel refurbish on Tuesday and picked it up tonight, they have done a fantastic job !

They had the car for 2 days and I`m so glad to have her back :)

Also I am having issues with the front brakes squealing but only in reverse :confused: The discs and pads have about 1500 miles on them, the garage have had the front pads out (Pagid Pads) and made sure everything was free, clean etc but they still squeal !

It`s so embarrassing reversing as the noise is deafening, its almost like metal on metal :mad: anyone got any ideas, I thought about just buying different pads but I have read others have still had the same problem afterwards :(

I suggest you put a chamfer on the leading edge of the pad material, this has worked for me in the past. Short of that they sound like they need a good work out. Stop 3 or 4 times from 70 mph or so and that will get them nice and hot.

NOTE : Not in reverse...:eek::eek::):)

From Honest John's review of the 4200:

Replacement for 3200GT, in UK from May 2002.

With a top speed of 285kph (177mph), the 4.2 Coupe also offerrd a 0-60 of 4.5 seconds, a standing 400metres in 13 seconds and a standing kilometre in 23.5 seconds.

Gear speeds are:- 1st: 45mph; 2nd: 69mph; 3rd: 92mph; 4th: 117mph; 5th: 144mph; 6th: 177mph.

Alarmingly, reverse is good for 58mph.

IIRC that was confirmed somewhere along the line.
