Evening everyone.

Currently trying to get to grips with this new forum. If this thread is in the wrong place - apologies!
I’m looking to get in to a 4200 (ideally sub 60k mileage with a manual box) within the next month or so. Based in Chester, but will obviously travel for the right car

Thanks
Tom

There is an early 4200 GT manual for sale that is in the spotted thread. Link below for you. It was at one of the car shows and has 65k miles.

If you look at the pictures in the link the contact details are in the windscreen if you zoom in on the picture.

May be a lead worth following for you. Good luck with your search and welcome to the forum.

Certainly does that's a nice car with good photos and a very nice history.
That would be 3 times the price here in France.

Hi, I spotted the car but i think it went through the car & classic auctions last week. It went for a steal as well !! That was ideal spec … I’m sure a few more will come up though.

Sadly not, I’ve not managed to find a spot on 4200 for around six or seven years now. Shame as @TomMann81 is local. Good luck with the search, my recommendation would be to buy a 2004/2005 Cambiocorsa.
Yes Chester as well. I believe we have a mutual friend (Ian Joshua at Porsche). I always check your stocklist- some pristine examples you have!

Yes I know Iain, I’ve not been in to Porsche for a while so not seen him for a year or 2. Thanks for your comments re our stock, I’m very particular about what we sell. Good luck with the search for a 4200, call me if you want to know what to look for.

Are you only looking for a manual 4200?

I've currently got my 4200 up for sale and had some buyers/offers that I'm negotiating with currently. I suspect the car will go for £12500 possibly a smidge more. However, if you were keen and liked the car I'd let it go for £12500 for a quick, easy and painless sale. Feels like a steal at this price to me.

Hi

Looks a good one. However I am looking for a manual only.

Cheers

One popped up on facebook yesterday. Obviously facebook being proceed with caution but there are genuine ads out there as well as the horror stories.

I saw this one last year. Ideal combination for me. What does everyone think about the asking price? Seems to have ⬆️ by £2k in the last year. Needs a couple of front tyres unsure on what works have been completed. New owner recently acquired it - with a view to selling it on.

The Fun of buying a car.
Go and view again and see if it's improved at all.
Make your offer and see what happens.
Good Luck.

Pretty much impossible to say how good a value it is from an advert. Most are rough nowadays so you’ll have to do some legwork looking at them all to find a good example.

DEFINITELY get an inspection done by a specialist. check when it last had a new clutch, if it hasn’t, it will need one sooner rather than later and it’s not a cheap job and rusting subframes are the next major problem. Personally I’d get the newest one you can as they were developed over their lifetime and the later ones were just better.
