4200 rear seats

It’s been 3 months since I sold the Granturismo and I’m already thinking of getting back in to a Maserati again!

Has anyone got experience of kids around the ages 5-7 in boosters in the back of a 4200? They were more than comfortable in the back of the GT but I’m assuming the 4200 is slightly smaller back there?
I’m a massive 5ft8 and the wife is shorter again so we probably won’t have to have the front seats as far back as some!

Any advice much appreciated
Thanks
Matt

Can almost answer that one. Last summer mine (early teens) were OK in the back for a week long trip to the continent in the back of my 4200. When they were smaller they fit into the back seats of a Porsche 928 with booster seats, and that one is more cramped than the 4200.

I had my kids in the back of mine, one in a booster and there was plenty of space. Also had a back seat passenger over 6ft in and he was surprised at how roomy it was.

I would have thought given neither you or your wife are particularly tall that there will be plenty of space for the kids.

As Phil, his girls fitted in the back of his 3200 as did the late Rodgers daughters.

I have had adults in my GS for a good three/four hour trip, and Im a tad taller than you... they are surprisingly spacious in the rear but not the easiest to get into.

Did a 6.000 km trip around Europe with my 3200GT a couple of years ago, with my two teenagers. No problem whatsoever. Comfy and spacious. ... and very quick :D

4200 is really hard as the seat bases are much lower than the seat belt clips so it takes a while to get a booster seat that fits safely. Go and get one of those fit and check services that the independent kids stores offer. IIRC it took me ages to get ones that fitted but that was over a decade ago and child seats should be better now.

Yeah I had that issue when sorting the booster seats for the GT, they had to be narrow enough to sit nicely in the ‘bucket’ part of the seat base.
Hopefully they’ll be ideal for a 4200 as well, if not, as you say, I’ll spend a bit of time trialling a few
