4200 owner with a voltmeter?

Hi Guys, I have just finished getting a contact-less throttle pedal sensor made for the 3200, and it appears to work quite well. I got a spare 4200 sensor to see if it was the same, and its not. Its very similar but not the same. I need some one to measure the voltage across the sensor to make sure it still runs off the ECU 5v DC supply. Any one out there handy with a voltmeter and willing to tell me what the volts between two wires on the pedal sensor connector are? any help welcome. I also need a 4200 test car if i get one made too! any takers?

Would love to, but distance is a subject!

Sorry for the off topic, what brake discs do you have? Does your avatar show your car?

Well i was kind of hoping some one would volunteer to grovel in the footwell with a meter and just make a measurement, rather than bring it to sunny aberdeen :)
The avatar is my car yes. They are Brembo direct. i am not a great fan of cross drilled discs so i got these Brembo ones grooved and I think it improves the braking, i like it any way! I also treated the non wearing surfaces with HT paint, looks ok eh?

If you can tell me which wires I have to put the voltmeter across I can have a crack on the weekend. I'd also like to offer my car as a test car, but I think the travel might be a REAL problem for me. :)

Sorry for the delay. There are six wires on the connector (about 2 inches from the pedal sensor) I would like as a bare minimum the voltage between the green and brown wires . There are two set of supply pins I think the other pair are pink and black, should be 5v both. If you are keen and its going well measuring the voltage at idle and full throttle from the white and yellow wires would be nice too. I expect them to be different by a factor of 2. It looks like i can get a sensor made to duplicate the 4200 sensor but its another special so it wont be quick! But this information will allow me to go organise getting one made. All i need then is a guinea pig! Or maybe just buy a 4200 :) start a collection

I've got a Fluke Scopemeter at work I'll borrow that or take the car into work and get busy, hopefully I can do it this week.

I had the time today to rummage around in my footwell. Here are the readings I got:
Green/Brown 4.96v
Yellow/White Idle 0.36v
Yellow/White Full Throttle 1.90v

I hope that helps.

Perfect Richard, I can now confirm that a 4200 contact less sensor can be done, i will get a prototype made up and let you know once i have it working, to spec. Might take a while, more special sensors and machined parts, so don't hold your breath, might take a month or so.
