I see that you have already spotted the thread on using the Alfa part... Is that not an option? Seems to be the best way to avoid the maserati parts tax

If you want a second hand one try the forum sponsors David Askew or sopranostu but it will be a used one. If you want new then Eurospares or scuderia parts seem to be the cheapest around at the moment

Thanks for your reply FIFTY. I am seriously considering the Alfa option, but have not been able to find a concise list of modifications that need to be done to that. Am I right in thinking it only needs the half moon re-positioning. Have tried all the other suggestions you mention, with limited success. Although I think SopranoStu has one. Would you be able to confirm the modifications needed to the Alfa part please.

There are a couple more detailed threads on it if you use the search function. I found this one. I have not tackled it yet but soon will https://www.sportsmaserati.com/index.php?threads/window-regulator-fix.22162/page-2

I suggest to take it to a good fabricator who can work it out and sort the spot welds at the same time... It will only cost £50 on top of the alfa regulator. I know an outstanding metalsmith in Aldershot who will soon have the same challenge as my drivers side window regulator is on its last legs. If you are local let me lnow and I'll send you his details

Seen a few threads regarding the different position of the toothplate on the Alfa. Is rewelding the plate actually necessary? The top regulator is off my Spyder and has the used range marked on it, between the black lines. This falls comfortably within the positioning of the Alfa one below. On a different note, the lateral guide channel on the Alfa is longer and would need swapping over.57926

Thanks Spyderbags. Top one is Maserati Spyder and bottom Alfa. So according to the pic just the long vertical piece on the far right needs swapping over.

Hi just a quick update on the window mechanism fix. In the end I went down the Alfa replacement route. £100 for the part and £80 for the labour later, I feel a much cheaper alternative to buying a used Maserati one. My Bodyshop guy said it was pretty straightforward to modify and just needed the lateral guide channel swapping over. I have a number for an Alfa parts guy who has plenty of these in stock if anybody needs it. Thanks again to everyone for their help and advice.
