I've seen plenty of eBay sellers claim they can cut keys from photos, you might want to edit that photo...

Located a site that sells cheap Maserati key fobs www.aliexpress.com sell most Maserati keys but not for my 4200 just type in their search box Maserati key fob.

Aliexpress is like eBay (actually, more like Amazon marketplace) in China. Sellers are all China-based and items are more often shipped form China. Expect things to be non-genuine unless it's clear to you otherwise, and expect delivery to take a while.
Other than that, I've bought plenty from there, mainly Chinese items, such as phones made by Xiaomi, tiny Lego like microblocks models and 8bitdo gaming control pads.
It tends to be cheaper than eBay, perhaps as you are going a little more direct, and sellers are usually very polite if you have any issues - though polite becomes frustrating when it takes 30 messages to sort something out if you have a problem.

If you're looking at more expensive items, AliExpress standard shipping has never seen customs charges for me, though faster DHL / courier has.

Thanks Corrango for your concern the 4200 key shown above will not open my motor

the aliexpress web site I mentioned was just to let the lads know on this forum that if a spare key is required
at a silly price $40 us on average it must be worth looking into when you consider you will pay £420 from Euro spares

Doing Maserati owners a good turn on this forum and having the above member calling me a spammer I find offensive
I will think twice in the future when it comes to trying to save members money..

Has anyone had to go this route with Maserati ?
My fob is split. It is the only key I have for the car too. I wonder how convoluted and expensive is it to replace? And is it possible to update a 4200 key to a remote that incorporates a fold-away blade design...?

Grtzzz....!
If you have the black chip from the split key. You could always get a 2nd hand key and swap the blades and put the old rfd chip in it. You may have to code the alarm / door opening part to the car but their is a simple procedure to do that.

You don't need the card or the code. You need to send Maserati / supplier copies of the V5 and proof of address, then they send you a key (with the code). Then you get a suitably equipped person to code the car to accept the keu.

Any idea what the cost for a 4200 key is from Maserati and where do I send that to?

Ouch. That's going back a bit. Call a local dealer. When I did it it was about £480 from memory and then it'll need adding to the car. I expect Matt / Conaero can help

Thanks CatmanV2 (I searched through threads before posting to see if the question had been asked/answered before)
Any other info or suggestions/guidance from anyone much appreciated
