4200 GT Manual Reverse switch on Transaxle

Does anyone have for sale or know the part number or cross part reference for the switch that is on the back of the gear linkage on MANUAL cars? I have an intermittent issue with the reversing lights/sensors sometimes not working and want to change the switch. I think the CC ones are under the control unit inside whereas the Manual cars have a separate small switch unit at the back of the selector rods at the transaxle.

I think the part you are looking for is located under the gear lever leather gaiter. It's a micro-switch that becomes intermittent after a few years. I've replaced mine twice now. I'll see if I can find the part number for you. Back in a mo.

Reckon you can wire any motorcycle lever switch to work - its the same mocro switch used on brake lever switches and clutch/deadman trigger failsafe starting protocols that the EU love so much...

A simple 12v, make or break switch pin....Not that Ive tried it..!

I did not realise there was a switch under the gaiter. I will have another look there tomorrow. I saw the switch on the transaxle when I was lubricating the mechanisms.

As others have said it is the microswitch under the gearshift gaiter. Silly design really. Had to do one on the project 4200 I had a while back.

The gearstick physically just nudges a little switch as you engage reverse.

Make sure you keep the copper location pins from your existing one as the new ones do not come with them.
