Anyone ever resprayed theirs? Mine are a bit scratched?

I did think they were some plastic horrible trim but was pleasantly surprised when I popped them off to find they were heavy casted alloy.

I dont want to paint them all really, just the front pair and was wondering if anyone had found a good match for the paint at Halfrauds?

No, actually first time this weekend, when I did the speaker upgrade, the car looked like it had been nicked and stripped...full upgrade speaker thread to follow.

Its just the front pair, have a few chips, probably due to rings and things...not that I wear a ring on my right hand, just the wedding ring on the left hand.

Yes I too was pleasantly surprised to see the trim was made of sturdy and quite heavy alloy of some kind. Mine are not scratched at all but aren't these trims 'anodised' rather than painted? So spraying them might not look right...

You mean the sill trims Conaero, only polishing might work on the polished sections....not sure about the other sections!

dunno, you could be right, but to touch they are very matt aerosol spray. I probably wont bother, but I might go to Halfrauds and see if I can match it up, its like a gun metal grey/graphite colour, but it will be the same as off a Lada or a Travant, ha ha.

I will just use this paint to touch in the 3 or 4 chips both seem to have picked up.

I have made some enquiries with maserati regarding the more exclusive carbon Fiber door sills and they are a whopping .£627+ VAT.Each
However maserati are showing liteally 1000`s of these in stock so they are going to look at a substantial price drop to clear some if enough people were interested.
If not i have acomplete spare aluminium set available for a carbon fabricator to make 2 moulds from (different shape for each side) and i would then try to get some pre orders from members to see if it all stacked up.
If this and the door trim was done in carbon, that might be a nice mod?

I had attempted to cover the sills in a very fine but durable carbon film but i don`t think it would withstand many knocks so decided although it looked OK it was too weak.

I've seen these chips a few times now. I'm convinced it's caused by the seatbelt, as you take it off. I'm sure it sometimes knocks the trim and chips it.

I've got a horrible looking scar on the paintwork where a previous owner must have tried to slam the door shut with the seat belt stuck in there. Not visible when the door is shut of course, but looks nasty. Anyway, this also shows the damage potential of the seat belt..

I am taking my to halfrauds at lunchtime to match up the paint, ill let you all know, but mine are at the front the trims, the end facing the dash, very strange place to be chipped.

I think Maserati must have realized this , on the GS they fitted seat belt loops on to the top head rest of the seats , its a great idea , i too have one of those dings in the door shut of the 4200
, and as you say thank god its on the inside
