Well this is a job I wish I didn’t start lol

Brake line nut is as round as a roundabout, vertical speed sensor bolt has sheared off so need to try and get it out ‍♂️

The joys of diy lol

Sorry for your troubles. Did the brake union turn without twisting the pipe?
Didn’t get that far, the 11mm rounded its self under some force. Have sprayed penetrating fluid and will try with some vice grips tomorrow, and cut the welded nut off the sensor bolts.

For anyone doing the job you will also need to drop the shock out, top bolts and drop links removed I still can’t get it to drop enough to get it outof the bolt whole but will revisit tomorrow and may have to take the bottom bolt out as well.

Well most of my ideas worked but I still couldn’t get the rounded brake line union bolt loosened ‍♂️ anyone any wisdom to share?

Doesn’t look like just cutting stuff will really help me cause im sure it would be a pain to get the bits.

Lost count of the things I’ve taken off just to get what looks like three bolts out lol

Cheers

Edit. I’ve soaked it in penetrating fluid for 2 days now so I think its more an issue of poor force being applied due to being round and ooor access than being mad stuck.

If you think this part is bad wait until you try and get the flanbloc's out. I had one bad front upper bushing, I decided to change all front upper bushings. It's a pain to put it lightly. My car has almost 100K miles but the rust on my line wasn't that bad, I'd also recommend changes the lines out if they're old.

the bad news is that the brake lines from the ABS pump to the flexi are unobtainium so that’s probably why someone left it round for you. Some channel lock pliers like these will have the grip you need.

As a last resort cut the pipe at the back of the nut, and get one of those sockets that have a wobbly profile, IE not relying on the sharp flats, and try that. Obviously you will need to make up a new pipe.

well brake line had to be cut and the fitting loosened off with a round head socket, they are suprisingly good for anyone that hasnt got a set.

So I’ll have to make up a new line, if anyone happens to have a link from experience to suitable brake lines and fittings it would be appreciated, just to save me looking to see what they are. Assuming standard 3/16 lines and hopefully my wee brake line kit can do the ends ok.

The original lines are plastic coated steel. If you have to join a piece in then a hand flare tool won't have enough ooomph Insitu. A bench one is better . Yes 3/16 , I used coated steel lines for the front caliper hard lines, and kunifer for the rest and joined to the originals at the front bulkhead as the car appears to be built around the brake lines! lol.
It's in this thread replaced mine front to rear. https://www.sportsmaserati.com/index.php?threads/assetto-corsa-refurbishment.36897/page-2
