I bought a spyder which had no rear boxes, which is a tad too loud. I’ve replaced the cats with larini sport items and it’s naturally increased the volume further so I’ve sourced some original rear boxes to put back on.currently it still has the standard central resonated section.
Any recommendations for the perfect setup, s pipe, h pipe and rear box options?

I quite like the tailpipes mine came with, bit deeper sound than standard but not ott, think they’re Quicksilver. They do two variants I understand, one loud and one like my own.

Yeah. When the mot man drove it round up to the mot bay I thought that sounds ideal for me. Unless it’s really exotic too loud sounds a bit naff to me.

Just looking to see what others have, I’ve noticed people taking off the super loud ones.
I suppose I’m looking for slightly louder with more bass (than standard) if that makes sense as current setup makes me feel like a boy racer just driving down the high street.

In terms of boxes, the GS ones will allow you to decide on the loudness.

In terms of X or H pipe, the x pipe provides increased volume with a similar tone to the standard resonated x pipe. The H pipe makes the sound more “American” with a more throbbing bassy noise. They aren’t hugely expensive and used pipe usually find a home, so you could try both and move on the one you like least.

Also, in the interests of tidiness, please post once. Having the same question in two sections can be confusing. :)

I have a GS Spyder and enjoy the stock sound of the GS back boxes, especially with the top down if I want to hear it more (getting a soft top is the easiest upgrade of the exhaust IMHO)
On top of that, given that it is switchable, the allows the choice depending on the mood.
As @safrane said I guess

This might help you
X-pipe vs H-pipe

My custom double Y-pipe
When you're inside the car it's more like Ferrari sound (screaming sound) if you know what I mean
