Just a rumble from one corner, if you have a newly laid road near you you can hear it build up as you speed along. It's quite obvious as it's from one corner of the car. Mine went around 80k miles or so. They are really easy to replace too, around 16 bolts, five of which are to take the wheel off! I have a spare wheel bearing on the shelf too. Eurospares do get runs on them so may quote long lead times...

At last check there were over 100 in stock at the factory, so there shouldn’t be an issue right now. The days of speculating by buying up 4200 wheel bearings are over

However, we can deliver quicker than Eurospares... Lol

Good luck with the sale Martin. I've got a photo of your car from the Forum Christmas party. Yours looked a little tidier than mine, but in my defence, I've had mine for over 11 years and it's done 110k miles. They certainly can take the miles.

Well done, MLC! Very good choice of replacement. More details, please.

PS - can someone please buy MLC's car? It's extremely lovely and this thread is about to drift into chat about its replacement.

saw this at the weekend. If anyone is even remotely thinking about a 4200, this is the car... such love it's had... it's immaculate... I'm almost sad I don't want a 4200... remember the mileage isn't 92k on the engine... good luck Martin...

Has it had a replacement engine?

Yes at 38,000 miles a previous owner, not a SM Member btw, managed to Hydrolock the previous one. So a new engine was put in and a £16,000 bill was paid. I have all the receipts. Ironically, my new car has a new gearbox fitted , as Zep says, it's my theme with Maseratis.
