Mine had full service before LeMans but I intend to have all the oils and filters swapped out over the winter. Have not changed annually previously but I am a low mileage user, I also make sure she is fully warmed up before user her properly.
My old Hotrod had an oil heater fitted so was “almost” ready to be driven straight out of the garage, but even then I liked to get get her nice and warm before letting her loose on my neighbours.

I have no problem changing fluids at least annually (quick spell check). I do all the cars and bikes and brake fluid bi-annually.

I do mine every six months, and never do mental revs until I'm on 90c on the temp gauge.....
I have always taken engines up to temperature before using the power. AV Engineering are adamant that the reason my 360 engine (see rebuild thread on Ferrari section) is in such healthy condition in general, even after 110,000 miles, is due to regular oil changes and warming up properly before using power.

So, is there a concensus as to what should be changed annually on a GT? I had HR OWEN on the hunt for MOT and service the other day which got me thinking. The GC is currently set up for 24m or miles for its service.
My FIATs and ALFAs always had SELINA oil every 12 months, new Oil filter and then the service as required by mileage or time. Seems like a small price (small ish) for piece of mind.

I always thought that in catastrophic engine failures etx that your insurance company would step in and help in some way? I may be talking bollox though ?
Many years ago the insurance company paid for a new engine in my Sierra that had pushed a piston or two through the block due to a large ingress of water.

So seems like water being ingested does get some response from from the insurance then. That’s probably what I’ve picked up on in the past somewhere

So if you start getting funny engine noises find a flood quick! However the car will probably end up an insurance write off unless worth 35k or more

At the time the car was a year old. I drove through a particularly deep puddle (I didn't know how deep until I was in it) and the engines air inlet sucked in a load of water. On the Sierra the air intake was low down behind the front bumper (I didn't know that at the time).

I've been hearing a strange metallic knock from the back of my car, turns out it was some effect on Hope Of The States Lost Riots album I'm playing the car! It's dome me before, some of the tracks on Frightened Rabbit's Midnight Organ Fight have a low rumbling on them and I'm all 'shiite, big ends...'.

One track I used to listen to a lot (Zemfira's 'Web Girl') and a modem syncing sound on it in the background, used to send me off '***** - who's my car dialling'? And another has a police siren going off which always slowed me down...

Here's Zemfira's 'Web Girl'...
