I got mine from Main Dealers, surprisingly reasonable and they fitted. :)

The same thing could have happened to me at a MD.

First the guy must have picked up the wrong box from the stock room and I didn’t look inside till I get home.

When I took it back and got the right box. I took an old one with me, opened the box on the counter, took one out and confirmed it was the same as the old one. Went home, fitted the driver’s side and when I got the other one out of the box to do the passenger side, it was completely different. Don’t know whether it was boxed wrong at the factory or someone had muddled something in the stockroom

Having read through this thread earlier today I feel it has portrayed the dealer I bought my car from in a unfair light and that this needs to be addressed as many of us stand or fall based on a reputation that may have taken years to build.

There have also been some comments from some third parties that suggest I've been subject to unacceptable service from the dealer who supplied the car, I don't agree with this and don't believe those people are in a place to comment.

My car has been a right pain in the butt and has annoyed me immeasurably recently, on occasions I've thought it jinxed and as a consequence may have thrown a tantrum on here. Yes I know it's a 3200 and they all do that but when it's back together it'll be one of the best out there.

Almost all of the stuff I've fixed has been minor items, that an inspection is unlikely to pick up and you only know about it when you live with it. There have been a couple of bigger things one may not have expected to be wrong on a car bought from a dealer but between myself, the dealer and his specialists these have been fixed to my satisfaction.

I hope that this would draw a line under the comments of the weekend and ensure that the hard won reputation of those involved stays intact. I do reserve the right to have a paddy next time it goes wrong and say I should have bought a Porsche .

When I come to my senses and finally give in and buy one of those new fangled, run of the mill GranTurismos, I'd have no concerns about going back to the same place I got my 3200GT from.

Finally got two boots the same and got everything back together.

£10 for a pair of TRW boots complete with clips etc. Dimensionally they’re the same but seem more of a plastic than a rubber. Dave may want to close his eyes for this photo.

Getting quite excited now, just waiting on two clips from Italy so I can get the scuttle trim back on. Apparently they only got back from Christmas last week!
