Yep any vacuum leak will cause it, I had exactly that when the inlet pipe to TB was blown off. Has to be something like that. Check and triple check every pipe.

Anyway..............

Cockwombling piece of pants, only an Italian car can break its check engine light.

Two fault codes stored, CEL control circuit and throttle pedal sensor.

I've checked the output of the sensor and its 0.4v and 3.3v, it's one of Davy's contactless jobbies so no idea at the moment

Is there a stored code for failed CEL?

Sorry, I'll get me coat.

C

Yep. Dash out time again.

Not entirely sure what has caused the throttle pedal error or even the if that has caused the lack of power, especially as the throttle would fully open. Haven’t been for a drive since I cleared the error.

Do these have a limp mode they go into where there is reduced power?

Well that’s a new one then, only on a Maserati!

I’ve had a couple of those contactless pots and never had any luck with them.

Really? What exact problems did you have sir? I have tried my best to resolve any problems that people have with the sensors, and generally it seems to be a good fix, there are something like 160 of them out there now and i dont spend my life dealing with issues, but if people dont tell me i cant fix the issues.

It's not rocket science to fit one and set up correctly, but then again maybe some things should be made idiot proof.
Now I'll get me coat.......

Its in limp mode, no lights on the dash?

Battery reset first....disconnect battery (don't close the boot and drop the drivers window) leave for an hour, reconnect and see what happens.

Yes, they can go into limp mode when a fault with the Throttle or Throttle body is detected , when my throttle body started to play up I experienced difficult to start and in one or 2 cases it would only rev to 1500-2,000 rpm. It usually reset on the key but got worse over time until I replaced the unit

PSI have had a Davey pedal pot for 5 years and it been ultra reliable.

Thanks Rex, when my pot was failing it did was like someone had disconnected it momentarily but always reset on the key. This wouldn’t.

The sensor tests ok.

I’ve not taken it out since resetting the error codes so can’t confirm whether it’s ok. Something makes me think it’s nothing to do with the error code will see tomorrow.

i would reset the code and if it happens again and its the pedal sensor do a quick recalibraiton routine?

Clearing the throttle pedal fault code has fixed it. Not happy that I don’t know why it came up, will have to see if it does it again.

Just got to get to the bottom of the CEL failure.

CEL failure was a lose wire. Probably last time I had the dash out.

I’ve now got the dash in and out down to a one cuppa activity.
