That bit would but it’s also ripped all the mounting holes and I don’t think they’d hold up so but the bullet and ordered a new one.

Ah jees - pretty sure I've got an old 3200 undertray somewhere that you could have had. I kept it in the hope it would find a home one day

I’ve got loads of stuff like that, that I’ve never found a home, factory workshop manual for a Bedford CF van anyone?

Those air filters have been in there longer than a year I would say.

Just checked and theyre supposed to be at every 20k km service.

Really sorry guys but just checked thee workshop and the 3200 undertray must have got binned at the last summer clear out, The ones I've been tripping over are off a QPV and a Brera Spider. Really sorry for raising any hopes.

I had no turboboost after shifting and Turbo fluttering after releasing the throttle.
By coincidence I found that the small vacuum hose at the back of the intake manifold was not connected. After fixing it, it was totally different to drive.

Not sure if it was one or a combination of all 3 but new plugs, air filters and fuel filter sorted it. Runs like a dream now.

You should keep it mate.. a couple of thousand miles around Europe and you'll be smitten!

Unless her indoors has other ideas your not telling us about:rolleyes:

In the last couple of days I’ve done a fair few miles. One blast around Worcestershire/Herefordshire lanes and one long motorway journey to take it to Richard.

It’s probably one of the best long distance cars. It’s brilliant at autobahn speeds. They missed a trick not fitting cruise control especially as it’s got an electric throttle.

I can’t believe I’m saying this but for country lanes it’s too fast. For real world acceleration, the in gear stuff out of a corner, it’s the fastest road car I’ve driven. I know the factory says 350 but it’s easily over 400bhp. None of the Astons, Ferraris, etc I’ve been in are as quick and certainly no Maserati. I know someone will say their Stradale is faster and it might be on paper to 60 but in the real world I don’t reckon it’s got the poke.

So I’m actually not too sad it’s going, someone with more balls than me will get a great car, there’s some lovely pictures up on Richard’s now for you all to dribble over.

The Mrs doesn’t have other ideas, although we both want to get rid of the gravel drive. She did say I shouldn’t have another car soon but I broached the subject last night and I’m still alive.

In the last ten years the two cars I’ve enjoyed driving the most have been the Mrs’ 3 cylinder Peugeot 107 and my £1000 E34 525i, so I’m thinking that maybe something nippy and front wheel drive or slightly more old fashioned but still modern might be the way forward for enjoyment.

yes cruise control is a bit of an omission which is why i fitted an after market one, and its great for all those average speed camera motorway sections. i find the fact that you get more speed that the road can cope with makes it fun to drive, if you want to push it you need to be on your toes as it will apply more power and speed than you can use, unless you are wide awake. The Bosch stability gismo that straightens the car up if you slide (at least that what I think it does) is good and keeps you alive while you learn the limits.
There are several examples on here of standard cars put on a rolling road developing 410-420 BHP so your feeling on the power is about right I think.

I started servising my 3200 GTA for the summer today and thought i will also replace by-pass valves which i ordered from Maseratished. after some dismantling i noticed that my Roose motorsport hose from the right side turbo had burnt a little. During installation i noticed that it is very close to exhaust manifold but so was the original hose.

I don't know IHI turbos too well, do you guys know if turbine housing can be 'clocked' somehow like on Garrett turbos? I mean if i could rotate turbine housing a bit away from the manifold to reduce heat on the hose. Or is that hose just too long?

I am not sure but is there not a heat shield missing here? I will see if i can get a picture of my car in the same spot.

I don't know. There was not one when i bought the car but original silicon hose did have some metal folio protection wrapped around it.

i will have a look tonight, I also think my hoses are red, perhaps a different temperature rating?

Today i finally changed my bypass valves and now car accelerates like it should. It still is quite slippery weather but looks promising already! Cant wait for better weather and proper test drive :)
