Hi, what a fantastic weekend !. Good organisation, great food, perfect weather, friendly people and blast in the Maserati, it doesn't get any better. The 3200's drew lots of attention, I did not realise how good they look at speed, its not often you follow another 18 boomerangs. I did 1700 miles in 4 days, 5 tanks of petrol, 1.5 liter's of engine oil and countless CHECK ENGINE lights. All good fun.

We need more of these 3200 old school events.. …….Its all too easy to roll around Europe in a modern GTS or whatever!
You might as well be driving a Range Rover or an Audi!

I could count them I think, not as many as you might think! Check out the condition of the engine on the one from Switzerland, I have seen cars come out of showrooms brand new looking worse than that!!!

"countless CHECK ENGINE lights."

LOL!

How's your car looking Davy, did you make it home?

Dave
cars fine, how it looks is subjective I suspect, but I think it looks great, always did. It developed an electrical glitch with the AC/heater on the last day but it didn't slow it down at all and I got home fine, no roadside emergencies and some truly epic driving, and 2300 miles (3700 km) round trip so not bad really.

This is what I was saying earlier, driving old cars for 2300 miles around Europe is so much more fun than driving modern's

Especially Maserati 3200's:cool:

Good effort and fantastic to see so many Maseratis in one place. I think that they look even better when assembled en masse, and such a rare sight too. Doing a road trip has got to be the best thing about owning one of these beauties. It's what they were made for. If you haven't done one, JFDI!

yes there is a sense of uncertainty about the whole thing that makes the good bits so much more enjoyable, and I have a new set of good year F1's on it and I must say on the quiet bits of the alpine passes it was really good to drive, handling so well and passing on the short bits of road, its just a blast, I think my son who was my co-driver also got a kick out of it!
