Guys, does anyone know the part number of the throttle pedal sensor of the 3200GT? Also who are the people, who can rebuild it good enough, if there is any?

thanks

Only one person I would have it done by and its the person that Maserati UK are now using solely too:

Does Mike do those or Davy? The part is a Bosch part on the pedal. If it's the throttle body, on the engine, just had one done on one of mine by Mike and it's running beautifully.

i still make pedal sensors if that's what you are after. they are alternative parts and not refurbished.

Well what exactly does that mean? They meet the specification of the standard part so they are not technically an alteration to the vehicle? They use contact less technology but do the same job.

It is a massive improvement over a **** part so it gets my vote. If insurance get me on that then they have way way too much time in the loss assessors hands.

I doubt they would know where to look of even know that would be a non standard part..! I just had my throttlebody done by bill in the uk and my car has never been as good! It's such a relief to go out for a drive and not worry about that bloody light on the dash!

Actually I don't have any light on the dash, but it is just that the throttle pedal is not responsible enough. My throttle body has been refurbished by the Maserati Shed, but MIke says, the sensor is not rebuildable.

Davy, what's the price for this?

You could do the White and Yellow wire modification where you effectively take an average value from the two circuits and this will prolong the life of a failing Pedal Potentiometer. Usually the symptoms of a faulty pedal pot are hesitancy in revs, limp mode and then finally no throttle at all especially if the output voltage in the idle positions drops below 350mv. The other thing to do is the throttle reset for both idle and full throttle which may improve things but not likely in this case.

My idle is fine. It is just that when i push the throttle pedal, on the first inch of its movement nothing happens, there is no response.

Ok in that case you need to alter the pedal return position. There are two bolts one at the bottom of the pedal and one at the top. You will need to tighten or loosen them until you get to the start of the "bite" as it were.

Hi Guys, I am thinking of upgrading my throttle body to contact less but unsure who can provide the best solution if anyone can give their views on this. I also wonder if I should replace the pedal pot for contact less at the same time, again who could supply the best solution. At the moment I don't have any lights on but very occasionally the car stalls when returning to tick over! Look forward to hearing your views Mark.

After having spoken to a few owners I'm getting mine done at the Maserati Shed at the next service in January. All the feedback has been positive. Am on my third throttle body since purchasing the car so going for contactless now.

The stalling trick is most likely the throttle body, butterfly is closing completely which is a position measurement issue, i.e. the rotary sensor. Does it idle at 1000 rpm? could also be crank position sensor, but you would expect it not to idle at the right speed either.
