I have done, but what I'm saying is not all Bosch 0 986 016 530 starter motors are the same (or any other brand, for that matter, other than OE Valeo). One of the posters above has posted the same issue.You have to swap the front housing over from your old one. They should all fit
If you buy a Bosch 0 986 016 530 to fit a Xantia or Peugeot 405 or whatever, it'll fit those fine regardless of the design, but for the Maserati it HAS to be one of the OEM Valeo bodied-starters for the Cit/Pug. Valeo was the OE manufacturer, so many of the reman Bosch ones are indeed Valeo bodied, but not all. If they're Bosch's own design, they're not interchangable with the Valeo unit. It goes for all brands too - basically you have to have an original Cit/Pug Valeo-type starter for this to work.
I used an AC Delco on mine yesterday. I literally took it off a Xantia, but once I'd removed it I noticed it was stamped 'Valeo' on the housing.
