3200 setting/adjusting the timing chain

I have done the valve clearance and timing work and found that my car seems to be assembled correctly at the factory. My 3200 is a very early example which was made in December 1998.

It is logical to set the timing wrong at the factory for the later cars as it does not need any new parts. Just change the way they assemble the engine at the factory. To reduce the boost pressure, you need a new ECU with a new program.

I think it was probably that as setting the timing could be quite time consuming that some engine become “its near enough that would do” its Friday let’s go home.

Using that logic we can deduce that all electric work on Italian cars was done on a Friday :D

Yea, But that won't sort out valve timing issues, do it by the book and It'll be perfect!
If your not technically able, get someone who is!

Stuart at Shiltec has done so many since his days at Graypaul, once the cam covers have been removed, it only takes him about 15 minuets!
