Bummer . The only other option would be an adapter, would it fit if it was fitted at an angle, say 45 or 90 degrees?
I don't think so, it's very tight in there, possibly a long adapter may do it to bring it out past everything, but would look pretty horrible.

I was just about to suggest the very same thing.

A long adapter may not look pretty.. but a) Who's going to really look at it? and b) With the regularity of these failing and being awkward to get at, it's a price worth paying?

Hi Guys
It looks like I have similar issue. Did anyone manage to install the Fiat/Alfa Romeo sensor? Does it work as it should? I'm going to change my as well and it would be nice to safe some cash as I just spend enough for heater matrix replacement :)

Thread resurrection - does anyone know of a source for 3200 oil pressure senders or do we just have to put gaffer tape over the gauge?

Does any one have a broken one that is surplus to requirements? i suspect i could make a replacement using the guts of some thing cheap on the market with some small adaptation, but it would be nice if i didn't have to remove the sender in may car and destroy it to do it! Even if we had to put a small PIC in the unit to make the readings right, this would not be too hard to do? I am willing to give it a shot.

I've got the one I cut open ,in the pics in the thread. You can have that if it helps. It works, the issue was a bad connection where the pins are an interference fit with the internal spring connectors. Offshore until the 15th though.

Hey Joeley,
It seems we share a lot of similar questions ;)

I would not be able to look at this in a hurry any way. I am wondering though whether a solid state version is whats really needed here. so it wont wear out and we can get rid of all the springs and moving parts, make it run at 150C or so and use electronics to make the readings more reliable. then it would last forever. MMM.... perhaps since the electrical behaviour is well documented here all i need really is the thread and the size? i will get my thinking cap on.

Hi

I have in stock after-market oil pressure senders which have been calibrated the same as the Maserati 3200 units. If anyone is interested please let me know.

Thank you.

Did anyone find out whether there was a generic Fiat or similar replacement for the oil pressure sensor that causes so much trouble? Thanks.
