please try to give me some advice about the running cost .
some say that 4200 gt have some problems some say that 3200 have less small problems.
really like the car but I m afraid the problems.want the car for daily use .
thanks for any advice :)
ps the second scenario is to buy a 996 c2 if in the end don't take the mas

3200 manual all day long, a proper car that shows the snowflakes you have a strength of character they can only dream about. ;)

is any list with a problems that I have to fix to be reliable the car after?
I know the clutch want a mod for sure

I went from an E46 Alpina B3s to a manual 3200. If I was doing it again I’d have an auto 3200.

But if you liked the SMG then maybe a 4200CC is the way to go.

my main dilemma is to find the more reliable car between 3200 and 4200.i think for daily use the f1 system its not the best ,some say that the clutch disk damage after 10,000 km

I own a 3200 and have done many miles in the UK and EU over the last 10 years and have never had to catch a bus, but then is does not have a F1 gearbox or 4200 AC compressor.

If you get a good 3200 with a good service history and a new or reconditioned throttle body then a 3200 can be as reliable as a 4200 F1, but service costs will be higher because you have to change the cam belt every 3 years, and some parts are getting difficult to get.

A 4200 F1 should have lower service costs and if you buy a good one with a new clutch and a good service history then there is no reason why it should not be reliable.

A 4200 manual with a good history is probably be the most reliable as it does not have the complexity of the F1 gearbox. However the gear change can be difficult when cold but improves when the oil get hot. (or so they say I have never driven a manual)

Also before making your decision it is worth checking who in your area has the equipment and experience to service these cars. Most jobs a good mechanic can do but a garage does need specialist equipment to change and set up the clutches on the F1.

Also please get any car your thing of buying inspected by someone who knows the brand, this could save you thousands.

The problems that blighted the 3200 eons ago have fixes now, if these have been done then it IS as reliable as a 4200 , then without the complexity of the F1 box of the 4200 we are onto suspension wishbones , heater matrixes and the like , which both models share.

Why is there a presumption that a stick shift manual clutch will have a longer life than a manual cambiocorsa on a 4200?

They are the same box and clutch. Surely it is just down to how you use and drive it that will impact its life expectancy.
