An advisory on MOT due to some light sources in the upper stop light bar not working.
Eurospares has the part at £35ish.

Has anyone any pointers on getting the old one out and new one in? Looks like a major removal of all seats
 
Haven't done myself, but from what I could see on other jobs in that neighbourhood it's rear seats out and parcel shelf out.
 
I can confirm you need the rear seats out to get the parcel shelf removed. Only then you can remove the brake light which sits between two parts of the parcel shelf.
In my case I directly upgraded the bulbs with led bulbs which should last much longer.

Thread 'Rear Parcel Shelf removal'

Thanks to David Howson for this very informative thread, believe it or not, this is the procedure to remove dead flies form you High Level Brake Light that you can see from outside the car:

1. Pull down rear arm rest, put your fingers in the hinge pins and wiggle it out
