3200 GT FRONT BRAKE COOLING

Without me having to take the wheel off again and measure it - does anyone know the diameter of the brake cooling pipes to the front disc?

I have found a supplier that produces OEM like silicone red reinforced tube; but I need to specify the right internal diameter.

I’m currently overseas so can’t check easily until weekend but recall that plastic duct that attaches to hub is not round but oval so you need to average two dimensions. I did fit standard corrugated duct though.

I will check, as I still have a pair of Assetto Corsa Carbon fibre ducts somewhere, assuming the size is the same.

Jesus. Everyone is different. I got 55mm for the 3200GT in response from Giallo. Might be different on the AC because of the higher bhp?

Mine's a normal 3200GT

I measured where the pipe attaches to the front duct and got 61mm and measured a free bit of pipe next to a strengthening wire and got 60mm

Sounds more plausible. I will just order some in and hope. I can always send it back if it doesn't fit.

Many thanks,

Rob.

Bucket list job...

What's the best way to get off a screwed-up circlip without damaging it? I can saw through the side of the thread casing to release it but this seems a little brutal. The head on the circlip had been overtightened on one side of the brake duct to the front disc - and now wont take the head of a slot screwdriver cleanly - so I cannot get enough purchase to turn release it - even with the aid of a good soaking in Plus Gas. I want to get the jubillee clip off cleanly and not risk damaging the air main cooling scoop duct to the disc with a cutter through the band - latest brainwave.

Make sense? Any ideas?

Hi Bob, if you are talking about the worm drive on the jubilee clip it should be hexagon shaped so you can gain extra purchase by using a 5, 6 or 7 mm socket on it.

Thanks Mike,
I will get stuck into it - best to ask first with a Maserati!
