3200 Auto Gearchange in SPORT

A QUICK QUESTION CHAPS,

Recently took ours for a short run. Engine warm, sport engaged, foot hard down in third, got to 6500 rpm and fuel cut off before it changed up, eased off, fuel back on and changed up as normal in to top.
Anybody any ideas why this should happen and why the g/box did not change at max revs in 3rd.???

Does the handbook say that in sport the auto change up is disabled?

at a guess lambda sensors as ecu must have measured something it did not like

in sport the gearchange up goes all the way to the redline....thats all i know, mine does not have a problem....

The gearchange is supposed to go to maximum in each gear when in Sport, then change. This got to 6500 in 3rd then cut out for a second, I released throttle then it changed in to top and was fine. I am guesing it was the fuel cut off when it hit 6500, just before it was about to change up in to top. This has only happened once and it could have been any of the points indicated above. I think it must have been a temporary thing, but I will try and get it to do it again just in case, if it does I think it's a dealer check-up.

Just to refresh this thread.
This problem got gradually worse and started to happen at lower revs. I took the car in to Autoshield Manchester for a service and mentioned this problem. They replaced the knock sensors, as this showed up as a fault, but did not cure the problem. Finally after much checking and testing, they located three problems and replaced: Turbo Pressure Pipe, Pressure Sensor and Crankshaft Sensor. This sorted out the problem.
If anyone get's the following symptoms: ACCELERATE HARD AND SUDDENLY REVS CUT OFF TO ZERO, WILL TRY AND COME ON AGAIN WITH RAPID ON/OFF OF REVS, FINE WHEN ACCELERATING NORMALLY.
The above items should be checked, even if they do not show up on the SD2/3
