Long shot but does anyone have one of these by any chance or know of an alternative? Part number 374831408

It’s the seal at the very back at the prop shaft end.

I’ve tried all the usual suspects but no one has one.

Forget that just got a text from DA he has found one in his box of seals. Panic over :)
Before you fit it take note of the manufacturer and the dimension's stamped around the periphery of the seal, It'll be easy the find next time:)

i had this crisis last year and had an alternative seal more or less sorted out, but i got an original just before i was committed to using the alternative. I did not want to share as i did not fit it to my car, but it may become important at some point. I did fit and try a cheap alternative first and it leaked and the one i have now is mark 2. THe effort involved in fitting a trying this out was so large i was not keen to try again!
Just out of curiosity was the nut loose when you removed the drive from the end of the gearbox?

I’ve not loosened it yet. Just finishing off the cambelt/water pump/service and brakes etc... first. This will be the last thing to do. I’ll check the nut. I have read that if the nut is loose it may have damaged the bearing as well. Hopefully it’s just the seal.

The nut was loose when I pulled it apart and the bearing was shot. I replaced bearing and seal. The bearing is still available i think I just bought one, the seal on the other hand is not.

Where did you get the bearing? What was the cost? I may buy one just in case.

Does anyone know if you can replace the rear bearing with the box in situ?
yes and no. It requires to be pressed in and the old one pressed out and just not feasible with it in situ. The good news is you can remove the extension housing with the gearbox in place and then sort the bearing and seal and then put the extension housing back on, this works fine.

I'm searching for 374831408 now, but it seems impossible to find one. Could you share the alternative part or the dimension of it?
