3200 Alarm key reprogramming and new fobs

Rather create a new thread I'd like to share my experience here with Abacus Car Alarms. A very nice guy called Sam explained all the details to me, was very nice to deal with and very quick at getting the job done.

Basically as it says on the website above, I had to take out the meta alarm from my 3200 (a walkthrough of how to do this is on the website) and send it with the circuit board from my working fob, by special delivery. Sam called me the next day, confirmed he'd received it and we discussed what I needed. I paid him £210 for reprogramming the alarm and two new fobs, and I got these and my alarm the next day.

So now I have the original key (the only one I had when I bought the car, no red key), a spare key (not Maserati) that has a chip for the immobiliser, and two spare fobs that work the alarm/central locking. Result! For me it was definitely better than chucking £3k on a new ECU and locks etc.

Still waiting on a new siren from eurospares, that will complete the package for a working alarm...

I used these guys a couple of years ago when my 15 year old 3200GT centre locking/alarm/couldn't start the car ECU suddenly stopped working with both of my key fobs..

For £200 they reprogrammed the original Maser ECU and provided two new chips and a code card for the key fobs in two days..

Id'e defiantly recommend Abacus!

Whenever I have spoken to them they have been very helpful. It is great to hear positive feedback from members about various companies who offer excellent levels of customer service.

I too have used Abacus after the main dealer here stuffed mine up. Highly recommended.

George, are they local,or did you send to uk? What parts did you send?
Thanks Robert

Sorry Robert just saw this.
I sent the ECU and the circuit boards to the UK.
There was a little hiccup in that they ended up getting sent back (UK customs to charge Abacus import duties even though they were not buying anything).

In the end a friend who was going to the UK took it over for me.
Cost was 125 quid - Happy days.
Locally Zagames wanted to charge me a fortune even though the issue happened whilst the car was in their care.

Just used Abacus to reprogramme my 3200Gt alarm. Getting the unit out was not fun because someone had been that way before; but one quick phone call and a photo cleared up the misunderstanding. Thanks Sam. Everything now works as it should. The new remotes are great. Highly recommended.

Anyone here have experience of replacing the digital horn on the 2300? My understanding is that it also has an internal battery which can die after six years. I am replacing it with new OEM. Never been done before - the car was born in 2002.

I've used them in the past, there very good..
Regarding the siren in my 3200, I switched it off, as It's just a nuisance and nobody takes any notice anyway!

Hi Dave,
My insurance is invalid if I do this..? If I disable the siren, then it does not conform to description in the schedule of insurance - as effectively it does not have an alarm?

Id'e definitivamente recomendar Abacus!
