I have one of the original batch that is unfitted as I’m now selling the car. I’ll put an ad up in a bit but PM me if you’re interested.

Why not offer it as an optional extra to the incoming purchaser of your car. If they don’t want it, then sell it privately. Just a thought.

Interested to see how people are getting on fitting these bars as only one reported installation to date and that sounded like it was quite tricky. I have been reading with interest the discussion on Alloy bushes vs Polyurethane and established today a source that has re manufactured a batch of the standard AC bushes that will hopefully fit in standard clamps. I am being sent a set to try so I will have both alloy and poly to try. Family time this Easter but hopefully I will find time to fit over next few weeks and can report back.

Hi Steve, Not got round to fitting mine yet, can't see it being anymore trickier to fit than the standard ARB though, it's the same size isn't it?
Are the stops on the new ARB wide enough apart for the standard clamp/bush set up?

Lozzer, I had my local tame (and highly trusted) garage fit the new bar - it was very important that a full 4 wheel geometry was executed afterwards because we had also fitted AC springs, 2 new front shocks and an AC steering rack. Over the years I have found that the 3200GT benefits from very precise full 4 wheel geometric alignment. The ARB's not quite the same size as the old one in that the attachments on the end for the drop links are welded on rather simply forged flattened (welded is probably better). This means that while the critical location dimensions are spot on, the additional "chunkiness" of the end mounts made them a bit of a squeeze to insert through the gaps in the linkage around the wishbone - they had to compress the spring in situ (by weighting the inner wing) just to get the wishbone to move enough to provide enough clearance. The flanges for the bushes (the alloy ones from Cornering Force) were absolutely fine in location terms.

In terms of driving, the biggest difference was an increase in grip at the rear which is something that any 3200GT seriously needs. When I researched this seemingly curious effect, it turns out that a stiffer front ARB really will increase the grip on the other axle .

The original Assetto Corsa front bar works just fine on my 3200GT, lots less roll into corners and as 77GR mentioned also keeps the rear wheels in check

We had I think 10 or11 front bars reproduced in the group buy, plus the modified mountings.

So any feed back guys!

I finally fitted my AC ARB today. This was working off the garage floor rather than a ramp. First job was to remove ARB drop link nuts - fortunately I had previously created a 16mm slotted piece of metal to stop ball joint spinning when I replaced drop links and it came in handy once again. I then undid D clamps after plentiful amounts of penetrating oil as I didn't want studs to shear and old bar fell away quite easily.

I then fitted both drop link ends first and then positioned back plate over studs and used trolley jack to lift new bar into position - aligning retaining rings either side of aluminum block and well greased with copper molyslip provided. I then positioned aluminum cap and started to tighten bolts - all very simple with a bit of easing with levers to align brass nuts over studs. Then I hit a problem where there was still about 5mm gap when tightened down. After a bit of cursing I realised that my studs were in some cases 30mm long and were stopping the nut from fully seating. Out with the Dremmel and I shortened all studs to 20mm which would still allow old D clips and self locking nuts to be used in future. After some fettling on the threads I reassembled the new AC bar which was slightly harder as the studs didn't protrude as much once shortened but I got there eventually.

I have yet to take it out for test drive but while fresh in my memory I thought I would update this thread.

I wasn't sure about the aluminium blocks given some previous comments so I also measured up some of the new AC ARB Poly bushes produced by Superformance but discovered that these are wider (and associated D clips) than the retaining rings on the new AC ARB bar so that idea was abandoned and I continued with the Aluminum block arrangement described above.

Can smn post a photo of this roll bar ? And where it’s fitting
And what it used for ?
It's a replacement for the standard front ARB which it's hoped would tighten things up a bit more at the front. A few forum people bought them but have so far not had any reports, suspect some have a yet to fit them and maybe others can't tell much difference?

If you are at Brands Hatch tomorrow you can have a look at my ARB installed and discuss. As you would expect there is less roll at the front into corners and not sure quite how to describe the impact on rear but its seems to squat down when powering out of corners - generally it feels more planted on the road and certainly pleased I have fitted it. I am personally pleased with the set up of standard springs for those long GT journeys (as opposed to the stiffer AC race springs) but with less body roll when pushing a bit harder into corners. Mine is the Sebring Blue 3200 if I'm not around.

Thanks for the reply, good to meet you on Sunday and hear your thoughts on the ARB.
